I took Lactaid fast act a couple of times without incident. Then, on the 3rd day, I started to get extremely shaky and nervous. By the end of the day, I had the most severe headache I've ever had. It felt like I had a really bad fever, though my thermometer showed normal body temperature. Then, the pain spread around. The entirety of my gums began throbbing and the pain spread to my teeth and jaw which made it virtually impossible to move my mouth. I then began having the shakes, the same shakes you'd have during a severe fever (though again, no actual fever). When I got home from work, I realized that my eyes were bloodshot red and I had no appetite. Finally, I excreted some of the weirdest looking waste I've ever seen in the toilet. The symptoms continued through the night despite already realizing it was the Lactaid and stopping entirely. By the next morning, the sore throat was so bad I thought I had strep throat. Finally, by mid-day most of the symptoms had gone away except for the excruciating headache and loss of appetite. Good lord. This is a lactase supplement which should be harmless. I've never had a reaction this severe to any prescription drug. Will NEVER even touch a Lactaid package again. Wow.

I am slightly lactose intolerant and tried this product to see if it made me feel better and it seemed like it was giving me side effects. To confirm, I tried it when I was NOT eating dairy as well. And just like previously, it gave me the same side effects (diarrhea, cramps) a couple of hours into having ingested the product.

My 16 year old son is lactose intolerant so he tried them and they made it so he can eat and drink dairy products with out all the problems he normally has. No bloating, gas, diarrhea, and uncomfortable stomach pain. They really do work!

It is like being a child again when I could consume all the dairy I wanted with no ill effects. This product gave me the freedom to enjoy milk, pudding and ice cream again whenever and wherever I desire, with no ill effects. These symptoms need to be listed as a side effect. The first time took lactaid I had sudden onset of vomiting and diarrhea which I thought was caused by food poisoning. The second dose I experienced nausea with abdominal cramping. I do recommend this product because I’ve used other Lactaid products which helped control my lactose intolerance issues. The product needs to be taken with caution.

I get bad gas from milk and ice cream so I purchased these pills. I took them according to the instructions and got violently ill with severe stomach cramps and nausea. I thought that it might be a fluke so I took the pills again a week later and again got really sick. My daughter tried them and also got sick. They need to list this as a side effect. It was brutal.

These pills help me through out the day eating dairy. The pills are very small and require little effort to sallow. You only take 3 pills and you are good to eat dairy for around 30 minutes. I am really satisfied with the results of this product and I recommend it to anyone who is lactose intolerant .
