I was out to eat with a cute guy at a diner. He suggested we share a milkshake, which seemed romantic - except, for me, milkshakes were stomach assassins. I didn't know why, so I had simply avoided them. Now, though, I was confronted with my digestive nemesis. "I can't drink them," I confessed. "They make me feel awful." "Maybe you're lactose intolerant," he said. He slid a small white packet across the table. "Try this." I glanced at the Lactaid label and looked at him to make sure he took a tablet first. After seeing it was safe, I opened the packet and placed the tablet in my mouth. Half an hour later, the milkshake was gone, and my stomach had no complaints. I bought a box and have had a pleasant journey through countless dairy escapades since. As for the guy? We've been married 10 years now.

I have always been lactose intolerant but have always been able to tolerate diary products with minimal symptoms. As I have grown older (I am 54 now), my lactose intolerance has gotten worse: painful cramps, bloating, gassiness, diarrhea/constipation. It's a product that allows me to enjoy milkshakes again without worrying if it will wreak havoc on my digestive system and upset my stomach.

When I took Lactaid I can definitely say that I didn't get bloated or gassy. I didn't need to take multiple caps since I only had ice cream with it. I would recommend this product to people that have lactose issues, I think that you will notice a marked difference to not using this product at all. I do think that having to take multiple pills throughout one's meal could be a bit tedious but determining how many you would need is up to the individual. Overall, its a good staple product to have if you have dairy issues.

I usually have issues with eating dairy, cheese and ice cream in particular. I was nervous to try them, but AMAZED at how well they worked!! I could not have been happier. My little lactose intolerant daughters love the chewable - to them it tastes good, and it immediately relieves their stomach pains. I tried it today after getting a stomach ache from too much dairy in my meal. As soon as it dissolved in my mouth, my tongue and throat burned and I vomited for a good 5 minutes. My throat still tingles but the nausea passed after getting it out! Yuck

My boyfriend gets nauseous and severely vomits every time he takes these pills when ingesting some dairy. This should be on the label and listed as a side effect. It seems like many people have experienced these same effects. This is very irresponsible of the company. Consumer beware, you may severely vomit after taking these pills.

After turning 50 I noticed my system was having difficulty with dairy. I made the switch to Lactaid milk which is a great product. I still wanted yogurt for breakfast, I tried the Fast Act and they help, not 100% but enough where I can eat my yogurt without the awful gas pains.
