The printer itself is decent. Its compact size is perfect for my small office closet, and I appreciate the Bluetooth connectivity and built-in fax capability. However, there are a couple of significant downsides. It doesn't support automatic double-sided printing, which is disappointing. Also, the HP app on my Mac won't work no matter how many times I've restarted or reinstalled it. I can only print through the app on my phone. I had hoped to use the app on my laptop to make faxing easier, but instead I have to go through extra steps to send faxes from my phone.

Nice looking but very slow printing

In late November 2025, I purchased a HP LaserJet printer because it was on sale. Unbeknownst to me, the nightmare begins. I did not install the printer until 2026 and was really impressed. Fast forward to the end of May 2026, when I received a notification about my “ink subscription.” My what?!?” I tried to print a recipe and nothing happened, so I looked at the printer and saw an error message. While checking my emails, I saw a HP message about the ink subscription. After further research, I discovered that I would need to subscribe to HP via an ink subscription or remove the cartridges that were sent to me and replace with HP original cartridges, which I immediately purchased from Sam’s for $117. I followed the instructions online (removed subscriptions ink, powered down, replace with new ink…..NOTHING. Logged into HP Support, communicated with Support AI….still NOTHING. I tried ChatGPT,CoPilot etc, but to no avail. The printer at this point is worthless. Fortunately, I was able to return the printer and I purchased another printer that did not require a subscription and all is well now.

Just say no - cannot use without a monthly ink subscription. If you stock up it will shut off even if you have ink to use up.

Do not buy this printer. The only way you can print is through WiFi, there is no way to plug in a usb cord to your laptop. I experienced constant connectivity issues although in sitting right next to the printer. Ink does not last, I’ve only printed 10 documents and the ink is already halfway through the first cartridge. There is a monthly subscription that you have to pay for replacement cartridges. Save yourself the headache and do not buy this printer.

I have a hard time with loading ink cartridges and paper. Bad experiences with this printer. It works erratically, not stable. Don’t like it.
