We changed to Beneful Healthy Weight about 6 months ago. Our dogs were getting REAL chunky & 3 of them are over 5 yrs old. They all are very active dogs but were still gaining weight. So we changed dog foods. After about 2 months we noticed each were starting to trim down. We also noticed that they were not eating as much. They seemed to be satisfied with less food. This was nice to see. Thank you Purina for creating this product.

I don't normally write reviews but I absolutely had to for this product. I have 2 shih tzus. One of them refused to eat anything since another of our dogs passed away. No matter what I bought whether dry or wet he refused. Then we got in the habit of feeding both dogs people food. Not good. They got fat. I had to do something, I had put their health at risk. I began my research. I needed a healthy food for my dogs. I researched my brains out. I finally decided on Beneful healthy diet. I read a lot of things I liked about it. But would my dogs love it? I was apprehensive. The day came to try it out on them. I wish I had recorded what happened because I was in total disbelief. They loved it. I mean they really LOVED IT. They were trying to get each others food. It was funny but I was so happy. One last thing. You know when you introduce a new food to dogs, you are supposed to do it slowly. Well that went totally out of the window. They were literally taking the old food out of the bowl and only eating Beneful. We have finally found our forever dog food.

Our other dogs are jealous of her getting Beneful so we give them a few pieces as treats! They love the special food and special treatment!

I have been buying this product for years for an 80lb lab and a 60lb mutt. It has been great up until the last 6 months. Nothing has changed in my home or with their food and in the last 6 months they have developed itchy skin horribly. The last 2 weeks I have decreased the amount of dry food and supplemented with natural food and they are not itching as badly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog loved the Purina Beneful Healthy Weight Dry Dog Food With Farm-Raised Chicken Adult Food. He would wait near the food every day and as soon as I put the food in his bowl, he gobbled it right up. He always wanted more. He licked his bowl multiple times even after he ate all the food just to have the taste in his mouth.

I spent $$$$ on other dried dog foods, trying to find one they liked, they really were not enthusiastic about any of them. I decided to try them on Beneful, they all love it, it is such a happy sound when they are all chowing down. I will try the grain free next.
