VERY upset that when I downloaded the product as usual like I've done for 20 years, a big window appeared suggesting that I should switch to on-line. I didn't know what on-line meant but it said I could switch back if I wanted. I pressed the button. I hated it. I went to switch back and had to use the virtual assistant to find out that I'd have to download the product again and find my code an start over. In addition, everything I had entered "on-line" was gone.

I didn't care for the format changes made this year, as I was used to the previous format and the new step-through entry process kept making me feel that I missing things. Found myself going back to recheck entries. Also import from my e*Trade account never worked as I have a 2-step verification and it kept telling me that info returned from the institution said that I was entering incorrect login/password info. I was able to log in via my cell, so I knew that my entries were accurate.

I struggle with taxes every year. This year, I noticed changes to the deductible material-goods donations in that the drop-down box for pricing assistance was more awkward and inefficient than it had been in the past (and it was a bit cumbersome in the past). Also, some of the info that was downloaded from my financial institutions seemed to come across incorrectly and I don't know if that is a TT issue or LPL. Once I paid for technical assistance, I did receive help from a very nice gentleman and it helped me get through it. There was a part where it said I had underpaid my “estimated taxes” last year and there was a fine. I have no idea what that was all about as I paid thousands of dollars in taxes last year and I don't do ‘estimated taxes' (my financial planner takes taxes out for me except for dividend and capital gains which are unpredictable). Because my numbers for this year were all messed up at one point, it suggested I should pay estimated taxes moving forward and I signed up for it. As it turned out, after errors and duplications were identified, I wouldn't have needed to consider that but I couldn't figure out how to get back to that to undo it. I will have to work on that tomorrow. What I like is that I have taxes for each year on my computer, that I can get (pay for) live help if I get stuck.

This year was very challenging and confusing compared to the 20 or so prior years. Could be due to tax law changes. I have difficulty reading the small print in the Pop-up help boxes. I'd like the pop-up help boxes to be larger or that I was able to enlarge.

I was rather surprised as to lack of access to some features of TurboTax if you don't have internet access. Could not update my listed charitable donations. Very frustrating. Also when I had to review my 2024 numbers for agreement it did not show my amended numbers.

Had to manually enter my CA Employee retirement system info. The program would not let me enter this years in the saved file. When I would try to enter it, it would take me to the "Download from your investment account" page. I finally just entered it as a new 1099-R and then deleted the old one.

Overall I have had good success with Turbo Tax Premier across several years, but occasionally I encounter a glitch in the program and have to work around it manually. In 2025 it happened when I answered one of the final review questions and the program changed my annualized income Form 2210, showing an underpayment penalty. I was able to fix it, but if you aren't pretty familiar with manually filling out forms and working around the program, Turbo Tax would have gotten me into a dispute with IRS.

Had a lot of trouble with Turbo Tax this year. Could not enter our 1099-Rs. That feature seemed to be frozen. I noticed other filers were complaining about the same thing. Also, we couldn't file because of missing updates. Why aren't updates automatically downloaded? Or at least a notification that updates were available, which is the usual procedure. Also, what if I had filed before these updates were available? Wouldn't my return be inaccurate if these updates were not included? Turbo Tax seemed unprepared this year.

I've used TurboTax for years. Very satisfied. However, this year it was really frustrating completing the State Tax side. When I did the state review for Idaho, there was something to be filled in on one of the state forms. When I opened the form, I was not able to get back to the Step-by-Step. It kept routing me back from the beginning--so even though MOST of the previously filled in amounts were there, I had to answer about 15 questions repeatedly (that is, each time I attempted to go back from Forms to Step-by-Step. No fun!

I have used TurboTax for more than 30 year. I will. not be using it again. It is very user unfriendly. The changes which may have been intended to be helpful were horrible. This is the only computer interface for any purpose that does not allow larger print.
