Once I would have given turbotax 5 stars. But no longer. Don't use online vendors such as Big HomeTax to purchase Turbotax software, as they are unreachable and have apparently scammed me with a SOFTWARE license number that was cancelled the day before they sold it to me... The problem with Turbotax here is that they can clearly see that Big Home Tax is operating online and they DON'T SHUT THEM DOWN. INTUIT/TURBOTAX, SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING BIG ENOUGH TO BE THE #1 SOFTWARE FOR TAXES BUT NOT STOPPING FRAUDSTERS / SHUTTING DOWN THOSE WHO ARE STEALING FROM YOU AND YOUR CUSTOMERS in BROAD INTERNET DAYLIGHT.

Initially, I recalled I had purchased 2025 TurboTax immediately after submitting 2024 Tax Returns, but is was not user friend when I first attempted to find that I had... but thankfully I had email, so I kept digging, as it first, it was asking me to set up another profile and I may have ended up purchasing a 2nd time. Also, two or three times I had to enter my new address that I have been using for 5 years.... yet it had two older addresses that I had to correct at different points in the process - again, this was confusing. It would be helpful to have more video examples of how to complete forms, such as the HSA form, etc.

I've used TurboTax Premier for several years, and overall it gets the job done, but the process felt more complicated and time-consuming than in previous years. A few recurring frustrations: state e-filing costs extra even though federal is free, which has never made sense to me. There are also several prompts pushing add-on products and audit protection services that can feel more alarming than helpful—they read more like upsells than genuine guidance. I appreciate the desktop version's Forms Mode, which lets you view and verify the actual tax forms directly. This is useful for more complex returns. The interview flow, however, can lead you into unnecessary forms or circular loops, particularly around foreign tax credits and investment income. California filers should be aware that the state return includes many adjustment screens that aren't clearly explained, so some sections required additional research to answer correctly. Bottom line: good for investment income and moderately complex returns, but not always intuitive. I'd recommend it primarily to users who are comfortable reviewing the underlying tax forms, not just following the interview prompts.

Sure feels more like 1998 when I use this software anymore. TurboTax has been doing it for so long, you would think it would be a more elegant exprerience in 2026. Yet the price is definitely 2026. In many ways it has gone backwards. You can tell different development teams worked on different parts of the software...it doesn't have the same look and feel throughout. And no...I won't use the online version. If I wanted to do online returns, I'd use TaxAct.

On my W-2 it did not contain a employer ID because I live in a no income tax state. So Box 15 on my W-2 says FL and blank for employer's state ID number. However, TurboTax would not accept that combination. So, in order to get it to transmit my forms to the IRS, I had to tell it no state even though multiple state boxes where filled in on my W-2.

when importing, your system does not fill in last year's 1099. it creates a new 1099 for the same institution and i have to delete last years. i also have another problem with the import function, but i don't know how to describe it other than it's cumbersome to get back and identify each different type of 1099 and start over. i think the prior years import was not as inefficient as 2025.

I have used turbo tax for years and am happy with it. However, this year we encountered an issue with the four digit IPPIN that the IRS issues. I was able to get my IPPIN as the primary tax filer but could not get an IPPIN for my wife due to technical issues on the IRS end, This process is very complicated and involves linking the PC and her phone. We tried several times and gave up. We submitted our tax return with only one valid IPPIN and will see what happens. Is there a way that turbotax could obtain the IPPIN to facilitate the process?

I really value the product you create, every year. This year, for the first time, a lot of things felt just somehow "foreign," as if there had been many changes i was not aware of. The flow seemed somehow different, and the verbiage as well. I navigated everything with relative comfort, however, I think due to general experience with your products. Perhaps a quick upfront piece on "What's New This Year" right within the product would have been good. (Or maybe it was there and I jumped right over it? Ha!) Thanks for another great year, where my husband and I did NOT come to blows!!! Donna

Not happy with this product, this time. I used it for the first time last year & it went much smoother. It cannot be our tax situation, since they are similar to last years. The State (NJ) Tax returns were particularly troublesome. With questions about the 2023 tax returns! Not understanding why since they have all that info!

Edward was awesome! He was very helpful and thorough. He was polite and spent time to review the situation and help us through the process. It was nice to be able to have a good experience with someone who was knowledgeable and professional. You should hire more people like Edward!
