I love the ease of using TurboTax and the way it takes you through every step. However, some states do not have a personal income tax, and my home state of Tennessee is one of them. Can't you write that into the program so it doesn't keep bugging me to file an unnecessary return?

We have used Turbo Tax before, but this time, it left us questioning it's accuracy. It lacks transparency ~ and we couldn't get it to print the preview or the finial forms before or after we filed the e-taxes, to double check. We even updated our printer drivers. We had to save a copy to a PDF file to print after we filed.

The "Importing" of tax information from financial institutions is TERRIBLE! The import from Wells Fargo Bank only had ONE account, not all my others, and it did NOT have the IRA account from Wells Fargo either!!! It screwed up all my numbers because I trusted your import, and had to re-do everything MANUALLY! Thanks for NOTHING!!! Then you don't even list the financial stock managerial firm, "EQuiniti Shareowner Online Services". And they are HUGE! What's wrong with you? Why don't you have this BIG financial company listed for import?

Fees Disclosure and Advertising of those fees is done poorly (were not stupid) so just advertise the fees up front. In April the Filing Fee for a State was $25.00 with a usable $10.00 discount when it was purchased through a qualified retailer. You don't advertise the state filing fee as well not advertising the "SURPRISE"..."Processing Fee" of $40.00 dollars. I feel like I'm checking into a resort with the sneaky fee structure waiting to pop up at any time and scare the $$$ out of me. Shady Practice so bring your Business up to a Professional Standard by revealing your fee structure ahead of time. And I Mailed my State Taxes in and Saved (less Postage) vs $40+25-10=$55)

Most of the tax filing process was easy except the data entry with Stock options. Somehow Turbo Tax can not understand the "Zero cost basis" on Stock options when the 1099 is imported from E-Trade/Morgan Stanley brokerage; I had to perform 447 lines of data entry edits

2024 installation was a nightmare. Program installed then would not start. Called the tech support and they could not figure it out. I pointed out to the tech that this seems to be a common complain since January 2025 and why she didn't have a fix. She forced me to stay on the phone with her for over 1 hour install--> uninstall--> run as admin, etc etc. All simple things I've already tried, never addressing the issue. I finally found the answer on an Turbotax user comment with Visual C++

I thought that TT Premier (for $105) this year had too many issues. In the stock options, the horizontal scroll bar was needed for all entries to be able to click the edit button, even if I maxed out the window size on my Mac; it was very annoying. And in that edit section, it said to only change what needed to be changed, but it did not display the current values, it just showed them as all blanks, so it was hard to know what needed to be changed without backing out several times. There was also an error detected on every start of the application and it wanted to send diagnostics to TT, but it didn't say what the error was and the application appeared to function ok. During the W2 section, it diid not ask to import my W2 from anywhere. So I went to my payroll site and said to transfer my W2 info to TT. It transferred it to my online Intuit account apparently, which is where I had downloaded TT desktop from, but it did not connect the W2 with my installed desktop version of TT. This was a total waste of time, so I had to enter it all manually. Also, in the stock options section, I had over 60 rows that "needed attention." TT said I could save time by entering the summary totals instead of editing each row for cost basis etc. So, I entered my 3 summary rows manually, and at the end of the process, it said I would need to mail my 1099R to the IRS in this case! You should have told me that up-front so I could decide if I want that hassle of mailing a form, not wait until I've entered all of the data and then tell me of the inconvenience factor! Very Very Disappointed in TT this year. For this much money, I expect a polished, functioning product.

I have used TurboTax desktop version for several years. I would have given you a 5/5 rating but did not because nothing was done to update the 1099-R blank box 16 issue. I installed updates every other day to address this issue. I should NOT have been required to enter an amount for box 16 when the actual form provided is blank.

Not as easy as in the past. I couldn't follow some of the answers and I didn't understand some of the questions, nor the explanations. I've used TurboTax for at least 20 years. This was the most challenging year. I'm going to try a different program next year and save myself the time and frustration.

I can't print from TT file. Get this message "Please wait while we prepare your tax forms for printing. This initial setup process may take 2-3 minutes. Thank you for your patience." At this point the color wheel spins, stops and the dialog box disappears. The screen reverts to the PRINT FOR YOUR FILES screen w/o printing.
