For the most part, Turbo Tax is a fine piece of software which covers most situations. Those it doesn't handle properly, however, remain year after year. As an example, Bond interest for "Agency" bonds are exempt from California State tax - but TT shows them as taxable in CA, and has done so for years despite a large number of complaints. It would be a simple fix, but they just don't. Annoying, but possible to create a workaround.

1.Did have proper taxes from last year 2. I knew I had to depreciate a rental but taxes weren't there for last year. it became a nightmare to find. I could use the Irs forms quicker than it took me 3 State program referred to STATE FORMS , so why have a program if there not there. 4. Truly user unfriendly! why can't it have a search program?

I muddle through my taxes each year with TurboTax, but this year, the size of the text on the screen seems needlessly small. I want to increase the font, I only need a small change to make it a lot clearer. So small incremental changes would be nice. Thanks!

Just okay - same problems year after year. Additionally, this year I'm annoyed to discover that it will no longer support Windows 10 next year. Other issues - every year it produces multiple errors with NH and Maine filings that take awhile to resolve largely negating the benefits of the software. The directions regarding interest and dividends taxes are not clear for NH. For example, it specifically listed NH when entering the 1099-INT form as an exception yet when you "click for more information" it lists all of the other states except NH.

The program works, but what I don't like is that when you edit a particular area, it makes you start from the beginning of that category and go all the way through all over again. And when you transmit returns, if you do (as I do) several returns each in different states, it defaults to include every state and then gives you an error message when it can't find the other states. Lastly, it failed to update in mid-february and caused me problems when I couldn't then input a Schedule K-1/

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years to do our taxes. It's straightforward and flexible with the multiple options for completing. You can choose to have the tool lead or you can go right to the sections you need. I like the tips that are embedded into the tool. I have only had to use the "Ask the Expert" once, and it was a good experience.

TurboTax 2024 was buggy this year. Could not edit charity contributions without deleting the entire charity, closing out the file and relaunching. Did not carry over the Michigan car registration fee to the summary page even though it showed correctly in the data entry page.

The changes to Int, Div and Stock Sales were not helpful at all and caused me too much additional time to see what I was missing from the prior year. The software kept wanting me to input information for sales of stocks on the Oklahoma return that was not correct. It kept me from filing my Oklahoma return until I input false information.

I have used Turbo Tax for a long time. Probably ever since it came out. We had rental property for years and it made it easier than doing it manually. We have stocks and being able to download from the broker is great. The first few years I would check the downloads, but it was always perfect. Now I just accept it. I have always done my own taxes, even worked for one of the big name chains one season and saw how easy it worked. Turbo Tax may have come out the next and I thought I could do it with just a little help.

I have been using TT for I do not remember how many years and I still miss a mailbox to report program issues to intuit. For example Home energy credits I claimed in 2023 did not appear on the 2024 Deductions & Credits page, when one should expect they would have been uploaded when opening the 2024 return. Also 529 rollover (1099-Q) where a mess, and although a rollover for the same beneficiary, limited to one per year, is not taxable and does not need to be reported, the questionnaire should detect that.
