I did have a bit more trouble with the Turbotax process this year compared to years past. There were a few points when the sequence of events didn't seem intuitive, in particular when I had to figure out how to enter sales of stocks and mutual funds. But I figured it out finally and it remains a solid product.

In particular, the section dealing with Interest and Dividends was extremely convoluted. Co-mingling interest and dividends in alphabetical order makes no logical sense. The way you did it in the past - separate dividends and interest sections - made a lot more sense and was a lot easier and faster to navigate.

Mostly happy. I was disappointed that a new government form (form 7217) was not supported. TurboTax told me that I needed to complete form 7217 manually because it was not supported by TurboTax, and I needed to file it along with my K-1 schedule via mail. Consequently, I could not e-file my federal return, and from 7217 is quite complicated.

Need to provide the full breakdown of all the calculations during the entire process so the user can go back and review in detail if needed. Also, when use revisit a section, the previous answer and yes/no options should be already set clearly and allow the user to select continue without having to select the answer again where a mistake might be made.

Easy to use and understand. Helps you correct if a wrong answer is entered. An example is if you enter your IL-PIN (tax payer number) instead of your property index number (property tax number) it can catch the mistake before filing so it can be corrected.

I have used turbo tax for years. I was extremely frustrated this year, as it never went to schedule d & when I manually entered the information, it kept telling me to cancel the override, so I was forced ultimately to do s & lost out on the carryover loss. there is no excuse for this, especially in the premier version.

software is too expensive. some sections are misleading, for example, the software advised to buy and update in order to get more refund. I followed the instructions and paid extra for the upgrade but got a message that I was not qualified for the refund/deduction

TTax would not allow a screen print. Used to help retrieve paperwork TTax said it imported a 1099-R. then asked who's is it but would not show it. The imported document has all of the info. Therefore info should be displayed Had four 1099-R's 2-IRA's and 2 Inherited IRA's Had to re-assign a 1099-R but TTax kept filling in wrong info after reassignment Double counted one 1099-R When you download TTax should not have to immediately do an update Should have a family version with 1041 when working on estate of a family member

I've used TurboTax for several years and this year's software was quite bad, particularly the Alabama software. There were a couple of glitches in Federal, but Alabama was much worse. Alabama's state software took several efforts, saves, and restarts to get through the Alabama return. Wrong forms would come up. Popups would stay on the screen covering up other pages. Some numbers were taken directly from Federal and put in as State. Several extra hours were required to finally get Federal and State eFiled. When it came time to eFile, a charge page came up asking for $40 for "refund processing" when I had no refunds due. I went ahead and filled in the page with credit card info because it would no let me go back or anywhere else. A couple of pages later the correct $20 fee for state filing showed up. I am not happy.

The first problem was handled quite well. The support agent was excellent and very helpful. The second problem did not get resolved. I already sent in a summary of that deal. This wasn't the fault of the agent. Those supporting her were unsuccessful as well. I finally gave up .
