Desktop Turbo Tax can be very good and very frustrating. (The online version is very disconnected, unwieldy, frustrating, and confusing and I gave up on it) On the desktop version it is easier to see where you are and gives you the opportunity to go back and make corrections. I like that the desktop version has the opportunity to see the forms which apply to the numbers one is entering. Earlier editions had more explanations along the way to guide. I did run into a glitch where I was not able to go back to make an entry for my K-1 numbers on my Iowa form. It seemed like $60 to ask how to overcome your glitch seemed unfair. Last year I was able to handle a glitch quickly without charge. I never did find the appropriate spot and gave up and just entered the dollar amount in some best guess income spot so I was sure to pay taxes on it.

TurboTax has succeeded in making the product more complex than necessary. The extra tools like instructions, forms, and more specific info harder to find. It used to be on the sidebar. Now they want to upsell you & hide the detail. Not buying it. In fact, as a former QuickBooks accountant for many years I can't recommend this product any longer. It's all about $$$ for them

I would have rated as 5 star, but it is such a hassle to have to update every time I call up the program to add more data. Every time I "updated" I would get an error message "Failed to install update. Microsoft installer error: 1603. Fatal error during installation." I have used TT for many many years and have loved it. Not this year. This make me want to look at switching to another tax program. Please fix this and let me know if you will look at it.

A little mystified with Estimated Tax Worksheet. Section IV Required Payment used the 100% refund I clicked on top but VI line 16 uses 90% of taxes due. So, best I can tell, TurboTax calculates different quarterly estimated payments depending on which section that is being viewed???

I have always liked Turbotax. It's been fine this year EXCEPT I have been unable to print my tax returns. The computer spins, I hear a popping noise, and it fails. I have seen other complaints on line for other Mac users that have the Turbotax Premier option (like me). I have been able to go to "forms" and then "save to pdf" and been successful...but this is a problem TurboTax NEEDS TO FIX. Ridiculous.

I've used TurboTax since 2007 and had no issues until recently. I wasn't able to login and don't recall ever having to login in the past. However I received excellent support from Jennifer that allowed me to login and complete the 2024 Federal and State tax returns.

Best part of Turbotax is having last year's data. Intuit should build more smarts around this, identifying variances. It's not very good at identifying online entries that can raise taxes owed. The online support with escalation was good and solved an issue.

TT input boxes provided for entry of interest, dividend, capital gains, etc., data could not be related to specific imported 1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-B forms . Previous versions of TT were much better at allowing/specifying specific accounts from which the data was imported. REQUIRING entry of account numbers would really be of great help. This year's format fell down in this area causing much confusion.

Print function does not work on iMAC (Turbotax 2024 for Mac)!!! I've seen that other users are having the same problem. I cannot understand how the direct print function is unavailable. (I had to save the forms and then print. Not good!!!) Also, the RMD input screens are very confusing. This was not a problem last few years. If it's not broke don't fix it!!!

As a residents of CT it is absolutely unacceptable that TurboTax does not have the CT forms available. This is consumer fraud and a class action suit should be brought against Intuit for selling a product under false advertising. The software will not allow CT residents to file, even though we paid for this !
