I've been using TurboTax to file my taxes every year for many years because it's really convenient. One thing I want to suggest is making the "search/tool" more intuitive. Sometimes, when I was trying to find a form or an item, it took a while for me to figure it out, and sometimes, I had to use Google to get the answer.

I have generally found Turbo Tax a great way to do taxes. This year, however there were a couple of things that were annoying. The main one was when going to review Interest and Dividends and wanting to look at the drop down and I would have to continually scroll down to the section I wanted, instead of the dropdown keeping me right where I was.

I am assuming that the software did a good job. There was a lot of information that it could have pulled from my last years return that it didn't. And also was very disappointed with the wording on some of the explanations. They could easily refer to much better explanations on the internet if they don't want to put it in the software. Also, there was a $10 discount that I supposed to get that never pulled up anywhere for me to apply.

One little clarification. I did a IRA/Roth conversion and then it asked about Roth contributions. It was not clear that a conversion is not a contribution and that it is already entered when I put it as a conversion. Otherwise, all went very good. No hassles.

TurboTax should still offer a disk, especially for Premier or other upgraded programs. Premier is a good program but sometimes I have difficulty making changes as I couldn't get back to the applicable program page and would have to open up the file and select worksheet pages from there.

I had a great deal of trouble entering information from 1099B forms. Program took me around in circles & would not let me enter 1099 B information. There was no way to go back. I made a mistake somewhere else and could not go back to fix it easily. In previous years, I did not have these issues.

This year I found the help much less helpful. In the past I have been able to use the search to find specific forms or to find where some of my data should be keyed in. Couldn't use that feature this year. The search only brought up the digital assistant, and I was only able to choose the digital assistant's predefined buttons. No free text search. Whereas in prior years I could rely on Turbo tax for a question or two, this year I was completely on my own. I am not really happy with this and will look at alternatives to turbo tax next year.

Typically I am able to go in to Turbo Tax in the new year and see last years return and have that feed a lot of the data for the new year. When I went to do that this year, it couldn't find the file and I had to enter everything as a new set up. Next there were issues between itemizing deductions for the state return that aren't deductions on the federal return. It caused quite a few headaches that I haven't had to deal with in past years.

You need to update the 1099-R information / question section. Rollovers that are reinvested within a certain time frame (60 days or 6 months) are exempt from taxes. You don't ask that question, causing me to have to call for your expert advice. Please fix your system prior to next tax season.

Allow users who purchase your products to save their returns to your servers, the same as those who purchase your products are able to do. They are able to access several years of returns if they were completed on you online systems, but those of us that purchase your products are only able to access our tax returns on our personal computers
