Becoming difficult to use. Not clear where information is being transferred to regarding worksheet and line on forms.Some instructions need to be clearer, more elaboration . Your estimated tax dates did not agree with NY estimated dates on their on line payment dates

I've been using Turbo Tax for 20 years now. Once you use it for the first time you will appreciate all the information that is carried over the following year. I have numerous investments so I must use the Premier version. I use the import feature for my investment statements which makes a world of difference. I will say though if you are someone that likes to play in the gray area's for the tax codes you may find Turbo Tax frustrating. If not, the software if very thorough.

Not as user friendly as in the past. More difficult to download or enter earnings and distributions. A particularly bad situation is with the payment options. There was not a clear description that direct payment was an option, and I paid direct to Treasury for tax due before finishing the return. There was not an option to show a payment has been made. Last year I did the same thing and showed an estimated payment, but the State of KS amended the report - they showed I paid with the return, not as an estimated payment. Turbo Tax needs to provide an option for this

I have been using this product for years and it provides help and explanations and saves important information that make a stressful situation a little easier. I've had different situation come up in the last few years and this product has helped me navigate through them and make the process easier.

I used an accountant once back in the early 2000's. That cost too much $$ and I decided to try Turbo Tax. I've been a client ever since then. I always feel like you're getting me the best return possible. All I have to do is answer the questions. The hardest part is figuring out where (what form & in what file) to find the information needed! You'd think I'd have that organized better by now.

I have been using TurboTax since the early 90's and have never needed help. This year, however, in spite of my finances being simpler, the program was more complicated! Questions were worded oddly-- especially for the AZ state return... so confusing! I did not allow me to e-file my state return, but routed me to an AZ.gov website. It was hard to navigate back to a previous point without starting over in the State section. This was the first year I have ever asked for help ($60!) and although the agent was friendly, he didn't seem to know any more than I did. At least I got peace of mind after speaking with him.

Less user-friendly than in previous years. More difficult to make changes/corrections and some entries did not update in real time, but only after moving forward to subsequent pages. In the past, TT has always been smooth and a pleasure to use. This year, not so much.

Didn't carry over capital losses from TurboTax 2023. What else did it get wrong?? Not being a tax professional, I can't check this. Review catches omissions - which is nice - but how did they get there to begin with?? The new digital assistant is useless and it's complicated to get to the old help center (have to log out, go to help, then click X when it asks you to log back in!) Taking a photo of the W2 to upload is nice, but why does it only work for W2s? Past problems remain: some items are deeply buried (self-employed health insurance, Roth conversion), MA state return is sometimes cryptic The little esthetic changes this year don't do anything for me - make it less cryptic and less buggy After 20 years, maybe it's time to try a different tax prep program.

The only feature that I do not like are the user input boxes that have radial buttons circled in blue. In a list of possible radial button selections only 1 is circled in blue. It gives the impression that the circled button is either the default or applicable to my data thus providing misinformation. If the intent of having it circled is to prompt the user to click on one of the radial buttons then say so.

Overall it is good for federal, but not good for state. Why did I purchase Turbotax Premier if it does not support electronic filing of my illinois state return cause of a common form: ILForm 4644 which is for reporting Capital Gains? Also, cause I cannot efile it, it will not give the option to add my direct deposit routing information onto the form. Finally, the Filing instructions only show instructions for eFiling which TurboTax does not support for my state cause of one form and it takes me into an endless loop that will not navigate me back to "print a return for mailing" seeing that is my only option. TurboTax is fine for Federal, but they cut corners and don't seem to care to do a thorough job for State returns, at least not Illinois. So they lost out on my $25 and anybody else's who used this common form. And now I am late "filing" cause the post office is closed. So now I may be stuck with a penalty for late filing! They had this same issue to not support eFile for IL state for many years for a different Form (M), but they still did not fix the endless loop mentioned above. BUT they will still persist displaying messages suggesting to eFile State, collect your $25 to file eFile State, even though their program says it is ineligible to eFile. Then, if you proceed to try, it wont be submitted and you have to sit on the phone for hours trying to get your refund. VERY Frustrating! TURBOTax, get it together, will ya?
