2024 Premier edition is by far the worst TurboTax product I have used in 10 years using your product. Several bugs. Called and complained. Incorrect form generation (1099-MISC treated as small business income; improper handling of rental property income). These errors could have cost me >$200 off my federal refund had I not caught them before submitting. Had to manually undo forms and delete. Why did I pay extra for Premier edition if forms are not handled correctly? Suggest Intuit refund the difference between Deluxe and Premier to make up for users having to do the work themselves manually.

Another positive experience with Turbo Tax. Step by step instructions are helpful and easy to follow. Also help screens are "helpful" providing context and additional useable information. Appreciate the reviews for accuracy and audit risk. E-file is great! Just wish I could file state return without paying additional $15 - $25. Overall, Turbo Tax is perfect tool for self-preparers. We're a 73 year old couple who have IRAs and Required Minimum Distributions and have make Qualified Charitable Distributions. While TurboTax Premier allowed designation of Qualified Charitable Donations (QCDs) it did not appear to treat them correctly as a contributor to the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and caused nothing but headaches trying to work around this problem. We were lucky that we actually had distributed more than our RMD in a couple of accounts. In addition, when performing an amendment to our return, all of my wife's 1099-Rs were switched from her ownership to my ownership and we had to go through EVERY form in their entirety to fix this problem.

Everything was good except in the Federal Form I had a short 1099 stint. Federal form stated "If you have a business name enter it here or leave blank if none" When reviewing it kept flagging that. Then the software refused to EFile unless I filled something in there. I hope this doesn't cause issues with the IRS because at that point I would switch software and try someone else. The re-entering of the bank account four times (2 for fed and 2 for state) is onerous. Finally, I wish up front you asked for the Driver License information when identifying my wife and I and saving it there instead of at the end where it was a surprise to me.

Premium? Ha! Trips all over it's self when it comes to options and K1's. Way too many manual entries. Too many errors needing fixing with no way to find out how to fix it. Left to trial and error. I figured it out but had to read between the lines many times. Probably done intentionally to bolster sales of assistance. I realize that my taxes are not typical, but are not difficult either. I'll be trying something else next year.

Several numbers from last year's return did not transfer to this years. I had to manually input them after searching through last year's return. These should have automatically been part of the deferred passive income calculations. And I didn't want to pay to correct your mistake. I am not privy to the behind the scenes formulas used to determine these numbers. Not happy.

much better this year than previous 4 years when you mislead everyone to file free but of course the the extras were extraalso it flows smoothly but you are never consistent when you take a tax task and use differenetquestions for both lets say husband and wife- be consistent will increase the smoothness-either ask all questions the same for both for each task but dont ask it in one way to one then in another way to the other -too ambiguous then -so you have a problem wheni pat with ctedit card when selecting the exp date can not go to month 9 can select all other months except that month.

I have been using Intuit's Turbo Tax for many years, and have never failed an audit. The software is very accurate and easy to use. I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who wants to do their taxes. By the way, you can also get the Audit coverage which might be helpful

A few features could really improve the experience. First, after an extension with a subsequent payment to the IRS initiated through Turbotax the program does not use this data when the final return is prepared. This needs to be entered manually, no reminder or suggested amount from the previously filed extension, etc. Secondly, for any late payment penalties there is no guidance on how to handle these penalties (i.e. add the estimated amount to the 'regular' amount owed or file and wait for the IRS to send a payment request).

I am a first time tax filer as my husband is no longer up to doing our taxes. he had already purchased Turbotax so it made sense for me to use it. I found it generally quite helpful. Two glitches. 1) I filled in information to be used to generate the 8938. Some of the pages needed correcting; however I could not find my way back to wherever I had originally filled in the information. I ended up downloading a separate document from the IRS and inserting the pages. 2) When I filled in the info for the 2210 I arrived at a different number than Turbotax generated. I am pretty sure mine was correct but couldn't find a way to correct it.
