OK your functionality is pretty but your software sucks. Why does it take so long to load? Why does it have to update so often and who is this process so clumsy? Could you possibly make a faster interface, having to page through screens is a time waster. Re-code this mess please!

Quality of Turbotax over the years 2017-2023 it was always increasing, last few years it has reduced AGI of last year is always incorrect and returns get rejected and we have to re-file 1099 Stocks drag and drop option is not available which is a pain.

Ah, tax season—the highlight of the year, right? I mean, who doesn't love poring over W-2s and hunting for receipts from last March's dentist appointment? Enter TurboTax, the only thing that makes this thrilling annual ritual almost bearable. With its intuitive interface, step-by-step guidance, and helpful hints, it’s like having a tax-savvy best friend who doesn’t judge you for that shoebox of expense receipts. Seriously though, TurboTax takes the sting out of this necessary evil. It’s quick, efficient, and dare I say, even a little satisfying to watch that refund calculation climb. Sure, doing taxes is still about as fun as waiting in line at the DMV, but with TurboTax, at least it feels like you’ve got VIP access. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to survive tax season with their sanity mostly intact.

I have used Turbotax for many years. It is amazing well thought out software. It basically does great, although occassionally I have run into a situation it could not handle, e.g. At least a few years ago it could not easily handle divided a single 1031 into multiple new properties. It also was unable to submit the form to claim that a foreign social security account is not taxable in the U.S. It also did not offer a method to create a 1099R for a foreign pension.

Using turbo tax this year was difficult. Program glitches didn't allow printing for review prior to filing. Couldn't put credit card information in as the screens were too big and there was no scroll bar. The line by line help was missing and it was difficult to find help.

Your Turbo Tax expert was a tremendous help. She was very patient and a great listener Very friendly and courteous. For the second year in a row I had trouble with he E filing process. That would be my only complaint about Turbo Tax.. Your expert fixed it thouh.

In general the program is very good. BUT I found the input of 1099-DIV and 1099-B information very difficult. Percentages relating to US government securities is input, but not clear where it is deducted on later forms. Also, the Pennsylvania return for this information was also very difficult. Form 8949 will have to be mailed in, but the 8949 form as shown in TT does not have page 1, so I will have to get it from iRS.gov. Also, the help documentation this year seems to be skimpy compared to prior years.

Overall, pretty good. Two irritating issues though. 1) the part about capital loss carry-over, it just spits out the final number, and refuses to show the steps it took to get there. I had to tediously find the IRS form and walk through it to verify correctness. 2) I swear the first E-file page says the state cost is $20 (maybe $25 minus a discount, didn't think I needed to pay much attention to the reasoning, just the final number). Went to file and was surprised that it charged me $25. Not a big price, but it felt like a bait-and-switch, with no explanation for how I could save $5 at that point.

changes were made to the 2024 software. input of 1099 info was changed to some bizarre new format that was extremely non intuitive for large amounts of 1099 information . other problems were encountered also. software used to be excellent- not sure why changes are being made to input not relevant to actual changes in the tax law...

TurboTax 2023 was easier for inputting things out of order. Had to put in W2's manually. Search/assistant worked inconsistently. Had to log in E-mail and password a few times, aside from initial install. TreasuryDirect is not included in the transferable options.
