The software is wonderful, and I depended on it for my tax return for many years. A small thing for this year: It is a little bit slow to view the 1099-B contents when there are many transactions down-loaded from my investment accounts. Also, a suggestion about the way to display 1099-B contents: it is displayed according to date of sale. Is it possible to allow sorting by stock name? Basically, I like to see transactions for a stock in nearby places.

I have been using TurboTax for DECADES. Such tax help and support just does not come any better. Also, I ran into a problem 2024 taxes. It was MY ERROR. I called 800-446-8848. Chanti answered. We set up a shared screen process. She stepped me through everything. PERFECT. Found my error. I can sleep tonight not worrying about my taxes. THANK YOU!

Buggy, slow and new UX for 2024 is much worse than prior years. I don't ever remember have any issues in prior versions of Turbotax in over 30 years of using it. This year I had multiple including app crashing/exiting. loss of data on 1099s, data corrupted and need to recover, and more. the UX makes it difficult to go to the form you are looking for, prior years got a list and could click on the one you wanted. Maybe it looks cleaner but much less useful Huge disappointment, not sure what changed but likely a new UX and development team. Intuit what ever you changed for 2024 reverse it immediately even if the bean counters disagree. Saving money on development, UX, testing is moot if people stop buying your product. In the past I didn't even think about alternate tax prep SW, just go to Turbotax as has been great. Based on my experience this year I will seriously consider alternatives for 2025. Hopefully Intuit will acknowledge their failures in 2024 version and fix for 2025, the ball is in your court Intuit. You can listen to reviews or your bean counters. Not a fan of airline pricing model. Pay for the state filing module. Then pay again for the state filing. It becomes especially expensive when I have small incomes from multiple states. I interned in CA, earned small income in IL and a resident of NJ. 3 States x $60 per state + federal. Eats into my tax refund

I have used Turbo tax for years and generally found it to be a good product. However, my spouse died this year and I wasted many hours doing my state return, because Turbo Tax indicated I needed to file married, separate. After much research and agony, the bottom line is, it should have said change the primary taxpayer to the surviving spouse and make the deceased the spouse. Instead, it recommended mocking up federal returns for each separate and then doing state returns individually from the mock up. Huge oversight!

Please enhance product so that if you have a multi state return (IE live in one state but work in another) that you don't need to click EVERY security sale to flag as non state source transaction. Why not have one button to update all or list a check box on main screen so one doesn't need to sift through potentially thousands of trades to update.

I mailed my return last year because e-file had ended. My e-filed return was rejected this year because I didn't know to put "0" as my PIN. TurboTax suggested to only check that my AGI from last year's return was correctly entered as the PIN (filled in after importing from last year's software). Since the PIN is checked just before the return is sent, could 1 last question be asked on the PIN page? "Did you mail or e-file last year's return?" It would have saved me some stress of being rejected-ever. I took off a star because of that.

It helps to have all your paperwork done and organized before you start - as well as your prior year returns. I have used TurboTax for years and have been satisfied with both the ease and accuracy. Tax prep is never a breeze but this system is very user friendly.

1. We had to go back an update program before eFiling..that is a frustrating process with not clear instructions. 2. Could not print our tax forms from the TurboTax program. We are working on a Mac and after several tries including using the File dropdown, Print did not work. We did talk to an agent who also gave us a 'workaround' to save to a pdf. We were able to save to a pdf, but never got the dialog box indicating which forms we would like to save. The 3 choices of Tax Return Only, Recommended Forms and Worksheets, and All Forms and Worksheets never came up. I now do not know which one printed in pdf. I would like to note that this has never been a problem in previous years. Agent explained that this was a known glitch for this year and just hasn't been fixed yet.

Foreign tax credit section is awful with taxes from a few foreign countries. I have to break up 3 1099-div into 10 1099-div's with some countries appearing in more than 1 1099-div. Turbotax does not seem to know what to do after 3 countries. Cannot find all the 1099-divs. Took me 6 hours, finally I had to manually edit the 1116 forms!
