After using TurboTax for my 2024 tax filing (married filing jointly) since 2014, I regret to say this was my most frustrating experience with the product. Several critical issues arose during my filing process: The tax amount owed failed to refresh when importing new data from investment and savings accounts. This required me to restart the entire filing process multiple times. The software wouldn't allow me to correct a small typo, forcing me to begin the filing process yet again. During submission, the application became stuck in validation. After exiting and restarting, it finally worked, but this left me concerned about potential duplicate ACH withdrawals for my tax payment. The desktop version's reliability has significantly declined compared to previous years. After a decade of loyalty to TurboTax, I'll seriously reconsider using the desktop version for future filings.

I like how things transfer over from year to year making the process faster and easier. This software is relatively easy to use. There are still many questions I have that are not answered within the software. I continue to scratch my head and guess alot.

Turbo Tax is starting to be more complicated than it needs to be. I have had to help several people who are using Turbo Tax because of more than complicated format. I think it is because Intuit wants to make for money for its CEO and other top officials so they can travel in their private jet, chauffer autos and the like benefits.

I have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and have never had a problem until this year. 1) The program originally did not work correctly. Information was not being saved. I had several conversations with the help desk but no one was able to to resolve the problem. Finally after an update the program worked well. 2) I wanted to do an electronic filing of my state tax return but the payment form was larger than my computer screen and I could not hit the continue button. I could not reduce the page so I had to mail my return. 3) I was trying to find out where certain entries came from on some of the schedules. You used to be able to see where numbers came from but now you can't.

ALL great except when we went to upload/efile California nonresident it said the EIN number (i.e. the Federal Tax ID) of our property manager was "out of range". We tried and tried and discovered that we had to remove the dash in the number that had been provided on our 592-B form from california. Would give you all 5 stars if you fix this problem going forward. You simply have to ignore the dash before you validate EIN field. Specifically our EIN form says 68-0138656, and we had to figure out you wanted 680138656 (simply without the dash). But for a while we were worried something was truly wrong. Please correct

Entering return information was fine. Wish that Head of Household status came earlier and was acknowledged before I went through itemized deductions. It would be nice to have the option to do a MANUALLY Entered 1040 without having to provide supporting docs just to see different scenarious.

Why do I always have to pay to file a state return even though I'm told 1 state return files for free? I've used Turbo Tax for many years and have NEVER received a free filing for a state return. I always think I've done something incorrect, but can't find the error. I'd love to be reimbursed for the $$ I've spent ($25 each year) that I was told should have been free!!!

Wish you still had the CD version as the download version crashed on the first try, just another frustration in dealing with your product such as second unit verification, passwords and establishing an account, not like your earlier years in providing convenience to the customer. Also did not like the general investments overview page, would like where the interest and dividend questions would come up after each other as in previous years instead of going back and forth in picking the sub icon squares in this version.

Turbotax still does not realized that many of it's customers don't live in the USA. One cannot pay for the product unless both the credit card provider and the credit card card user have a US address. One cannot register the product. Registration accepts only US/Canada addresses. One cannot enter a contact telephone number. The system does not support the internal format for mobile numbers.
