Was really disappointed in abrupt removal of the charitable donation estimation tool that I have relied on for years. In addition, I remain frustrated with the flow of walk-me-through for college costs and associated 529 withdrawals. Its very confusing. Final point is tax help--- i ended up using ChatGPT for research on specific topics. So much easier than the Intuit resources.

After using TurboTax product for decades, I'm going to switch services. Trying to file my State tax for the $25 fee was impossible! I kept getting a "slight snag" loop and had to pay $65 from my Federal refund to e-file my taxes. Very frustrating!!!!!

User interface is abominable. To be sure I wasn't a bot, I had to go through 15 ROUNDS of checking boxes containing motorcycles, etc. If your method needs 15 tries, it's a lousy method & should be changed. If you're trying to get the user seething with frustration, you're succeeding. Documents from brokerages...I went through the menu to get the forms from my broker. For some reason, I couldn't log on to Schwab--it's offer to send a text verification, then said it wasn't available. I logged on to Schwab with no problems, downloaded my statements. could I upload them? I could not. But I could copy the numbers. And for vanguard, I needed the account number and document ID--WHICH I HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE FORM MANUALLY TO GET. But again, I couldn't submit the PDF I'd downloaded, but had to copy the numbers from that one so you could retrieve it directly. And when it tried to connect to Vanguard, I again had to go through 6 rounds of checking boxes with motorcycles--which I hadn't had to do when logging on to Vanguard directly. So that's not them, that's you. It's like it's been designed to be awkward, clumsy, and inconvenient. You've got the resources to hire competent developers. But apparently that's too much bother.

Product has been reliable in the past, but this year they are selling the product before they have finished the final version that includes all sections. They state in the highlights that the product is "Step-by-step guidance on stocks, bonds, ESPPs and other investment income and Up-to-date on the latest tax laws." This is not true and those sections cannot be used. Purchased over a month ago and still not updated as of 12-17. They should not sell it until it is ready. They need to update immediately! Need this for tax planning!

I do my return as well as my daughters. Turbo tax confuses the states and I lost out on my one free state because it drew from my daughter's return - a state where I don't file. When I go to e-file my returns the list includes the state my daughter lives in and when I go to e-file her returns the list includes the several states I file in. The returns should be maintained completely separately.

Not very user friendly. There should be additional guidance or an explanation on each page. Biggest complaint is when filing in multiple states. I have a rental in another state. I had to keep switching back and forth from the federal return to the other state return so I could manually input information on the state return that was already included on the federal return.

I do not like how you handle investments (1099-R, -Div, -Int) after the initial input. The summary boxes do not show the account number, only the vague name. I have to go to Forms to figure out and input for each box that i am working on. Edit screen also does not show total title and account number of the investment. It's very confusing with 15 accounts to clarify. Arizona state is very confusing, too.

TurboTax worked well as it has always done. My only criticism is that the desktop program is not available for Windows 10. I was hoping that you would make it available for Linux but if you don't make available for Windows 10 users I doubt that it will ever be available for Linux.

The CA state return walkthru is poor. For such a large state I would expect it to be more like the Fed. The MA was somewhat better when I used to use that. There is not a good way to track your accrued interest for bonds which would be nice. Or at least asking about it. And charging $25 for e-file a state return is robbery. NY may have a lot of problems but outlawing this seems appropriate.

As usual the program was pretty easy to work, the step-by-step process was a bit more cumbersome, not sure why it a changed from the 2024 version. Most of the questions I had were not answered with useful information and I had to search on the web for clearer responses, the main problem seemed to be the "suggested topics," it seldom took me to the actual answer to a question.
