Most of the steps went smooth, but TXF file import for 1099-DA (Crypto Filing) was not smooth. Due to TXF file format is still not fully compatible with 1099-DA format, it asked to select whether it was for digital asset for EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION, which was not feasible for near 1000 transactions I had. I ended up using import feature which is only available on online edition of TurboTax.

Need to know, in the calculations, what numbers that you entered are being used. I didn't see anywhere, as the system walked me through, the payments I already to the feds and states being taken into account to come up with what I owe. It should be easy to follow where the numbers you inputting are going.

I cannot e-file with Turbo Tax because my income is not taxable on W2's. You should fix this. Now I need to file an amended return and I can't find the form because you think I didn't file. Support used to be great but not anymore. I'm using another company this year because my computer uses Windows 10. Can you fix this? Getting too expensive.

TurboTax Premier is easy to use. I always use the step-by-step instructions to fill out the forms. I have one complaint. I can download my information from my financial institutions as PDFs. Why can't I use these PDFs to import my information into TurboTax. I don't feel comfortable allowing TurboTax to log into and to access my data directly. I feel security breaches could occur during the import process. TurboTax had to access my information twice (2 divisions) even though my information is in the same main institution. Oh, it took a long time to select a unique nickname - please review this.

I have had several problems this year. The biggest issues is my grandson who got married and is filing as Married Filing Separately. TurboTax does NOT make it easy to transfer income and tax withholdings between the person you are doing the taxes for and the spouse. The community property split is not written well and hard to understand. I found on the help community a way to put the spouses w2 in and play around with the amounts to achieve the result that was legally required. The interface in forms mode had issues too. It populated the spouses residency data from the primary taxpayer. There was no way to fix this manually. The spouse was a full year non-resident but Turbo Tax kept copying the primary taxpayer data to the spouse with no way to stop it. I tried to uncheck a box that said copy primary taxpayer data but it would not uncheck. Really a pain.

This year the inputting of data for stocks, dividends and interest was harder. The "Bubbles" were harder to navigate making it necessary to move down the list after entering each set of data. The option to enter data myself was not offered as last year so I had to navigate through the download portion to enter the data myself. As far as stock sales that section was horrible - I couldn't see what I had already entered so I ended up entering stock sales twice!! Offer an option to self-enter data early and keep the option of if the user wishes to do so. I particularly was surprised with the added charge of $40.00 as a download fee. I was told that my first state return would be free but when it came time to submit the state for free I was charged $20.00. Nickle and diming folks after they selected e-filing was not a favorite part of the process. Next year I will file by mailing it myself to avoid these fees!! Other than that, most everything went well as i've otherwise grown to expect out of Turbo Tax.

TurboTax makes filing easier and quicker. The only thing this year was that when trying to put a credit card in to pay for my state tax filing I couldn't put in the December month in the dropdown box it only went to 10 not 12 and I had to use a different credit card.

I have used Turbo Tax since it's beginning when it was on many small disks I would load into a very small Mac. It has greatly improved over the many years but can still use more improvement. It needs to handle K=1 forms better. Also there are many financial institutions that cannot download info directly to Turbo Tax. Some information from the previous year such as prior depreciation does not carry over to the new year.

Very frustrated. For several years, the foreign tax credit DOES NOT WORK. This year I finally gave up and took the deduction (not my choice, but could never get the FORM 1116 to work). Get your act together. There are many negative comments from frustrated tax payers making this same comment. Lost lots of time trying to get this to work. Waste of time!!!

I have been using Turbotax for decades, and it is hard not to feel the quality has diminished over the years. The biggest disappointment for me is in the state returns. I buy Turbotax Premier because I have rental properties in multiple states, and I no longer have confidence that Turbotax is handling this complexity properly. In fact, I find myself doing all the allocation work offline, which is just not why I buy this software.
