I"ve used Turbotax for probably 20+ years. This time in small print, it requires Windows 11(which I can't use on my prior laptop W-10), so I needed to switch to my newer laptop that is also Windows 10, (but at least I could upgrade to W-11). Then after starting my return on Turbotax, the screen background is BLACK, WHICH MADE IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE. From going to help desk, I see this is an INTUIT TURBOTAX issue. It sucks.....

I had a couple issues. First one was that I could not pay for adding state returns with my new credit card since the expiration date was after 09 (September). This could NOT be resolved no matter who I spoke with nor after following all advice I found online.. I had to use a different credit card with earlier expiration date. Second issue was that my Oklahoma Tax form forced me to fill out a form 561NR for capital gain deductions when I had sold a property in Colorado. I should NOT have been required to fill out this form according to Chat GPT, since I had no gains in Oklahoma, and I wasn't able to properly choose a "Type of property sold" for question 2 on this form. I had to pick "99" even though this was an invalid choice. Hopefully my return will not be rejected because of it!

Desktop Premier Windows version Accurate calculations. Unclear directions for 1099-Misc with Royalty caused a lot of extra time. TurboTax not automatically filling in information that we do not have any foreign accounts or trusts even though we answered that question during the preparation.

I always do my taxes the old-fashioned way(by hand) first to see my tax refund/bill. Then I load my all my financial tax data into TurboTax to see if my return agrees with TT. Then I know I have included everything I should before I file my return. This gives me piece of mind that I've done it correctly.

Did not communicate with you. Couldn't download 1099-R forms this time. TurboTax seemed to push me into purchasing something else rather than letting me move on. Sometime my mouse wouldn't work and I would have to touch the screen. I've used TurboTax for decades and this was the most challenging.

There were errors on the import of 1099 from our broker which we did not notice until we reviewed the 1040 by hand. Result ed in a ($200,00) capital loss which would have not been carried forward had we not noticed it. Expensive goof with no noticeable error

Some of the UI took a step back. Cumbersome in too many places. When you confirm what forms you are going to use this year from last, and then download those forms, there are duplicate entries in the INT/DIV/ section. Also, when entering Social Security, there is a convoluted question (double negative) about not living in a country. Even when you answer it correctly, it takes you to Canadian Pension fund question that you have to ignore - and then you can't get rid of it in the summary.

The is an error when filing NY state return. Problem arises when wages (box 1 in W2) are the same as non-qualified plans (box 11). NYS rejects the return. The problem should be resolved between TurboTax and NYS IRS to properly handle the form generated by turbo tax.

I have used Turbo Tax since thy began and will aways use them. The first time I used turbo tax I found a mistake that the tax person that I used at that time had made a mistake on my taxes year before and he had to go back to fix his mistake. I know do all my kids and their kids taxes. Thank you

This year, the application seemed more complex than in prior years. This year I had to search for and provide RMD information unlike other years. Also, the IP PIN input page did not come up automatically, I had to search for it. The information related to the requirement for reporting foreign bank accounts via a separate Form was confusing.
