I used to love TurboTax...now, not so much. I had more trouble this year with using TurboTax than in previous years. In particular, I was unsure about filling out several things: foreign income behind foreign tax; at-risk own business; Medicare premiums and reimbursement; etc. I did not see how to rectify the at-risk box for Schedule A, so hope I got it. All in all, I am thinking that maybe I need to get a tax professional so that I feel certain my tax returns are legally accurate.

Ugly interface, and buggy, too. Crashed multiple times on an up-to-date Mac and somehow forgot to ask multiple state-required questions by the end so I had to go back and manually answer them. Multiple tax forms that I needed did not appear so I had to search manually. Even simple text input while writing this review is bugging out. And they have the gall to keep trying to squeeze extra money out of you throughout the process. I'm disgusted and will use the much more easy-to-use free options that are now available. Never again. Almost twenty hours to plug in info from nine pages. That means ONE number from nine pages. Too many times, the instruction was not clear and I had to guess what was meant. You can't do an idiot check with people who work the system. They know what you mean even if it's not clear to the average person. I used to work these products, Automated Systems, so I think I have input.

I've been quite happy with TurboTax for many years (the ability to download complex financial information is its greatest advantage) and I certainly trust the final result. But with the amount of time it took to work around software problems, I'll do some research before purchasing it next year. Of the very few, relevant community forum suggestions, only re-installing and re-registering the software (Premier for Mac) worked, but this had to be done each time I quit and came back to add more data. However, my returns are filed, and next year's TurboTax may again be trouble-free.

Had problems this year. Some how the software decided I had business expenses when I didn't, and wanted to know my employer for a UE form. I did not have business expenses. Also, when I decided to submit my PA state taxes later after I had selected to efile both, but I couldn't back up, so I just submitted the federal tax forms. I was forced later to efile my PA state taxes because I couldn't get out of not doing it.

Easy to use and the format stays the same form year to year. I appreciate the different levels of tax software that can fit the need of simple to complicated filings. It is fairly priced. It provides guidance and accurate findings with good explanations. It has always worked well on Windows platforms I have used.

I have used Turbo Tax for decades, and, when I use it, I find that the tool knows more than I do. Entering data is simple with the guided prompts. When there is a confusing section, the help option clears up what i needed. The state return is basically completed using the info from the federal return. E-file is great.

Turbo Tax is NOT easy. Program asks the user questions it should know by information already entered: Why is Medicare wages higher then state? Going through Pa State program, The step by step doesn't show the program transferred the union dues to the state as a deduction. Had to switch to form view to confirm. The same for prorating tax exempt dividends.

I have used TurboTax for years, having to upgrade to Premier a few years ago because of complexities with my several retirement accounts. While my adult children constantly say I should hire someone to do my taxes, I have found that 90% of the effort is gathering the information and 10% is running the TurboTax software. Because I end up using the Standard Deduction after all is said and done, I do not think I need to hire a professional to tell me that.

I had to BUY a windows 11 computer to do my Taxes. With all the hacking going on, I DO NOT trust you or feel comfortable doing this online., In fact I WILL be looking for alternatives. Ever since you quit sending out a CD just to save pennies and then raised the price anyway, I have been displeased.
