I have been using TurboTax since it was called MacInTax. I prefer to do my own personal bookkeeping (Quicken) and taxes. ... and I really really really prefer doing it on my Mac rather than online. The ability to download my brokerage accounts is huge help. Schedule K-1s for publicly traded LLCs are a huge pain to do by handout maybe soon

While getting the correct info is always troublesome, the software handles most situations. Getting through the submission of the data is very difficult and this year it was not possible. The reason for the e-file not getting through to the IRS was first (the software needed an update) that was wrong because I reloaded the software and there were no new changes. The second (there was some sort of State not agreeing with previous state submissions) . The issue was impossible to find to make things correct.

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and it hasn't let me down yet! It's always great with support and accurate! I love its compatibility with so many outside sources so I can download items instead of having to type them in every time. Overall with Turbo Tax features and interface capabilities it saves me a lot of extra work so yes I love it.

Your software is a plague on the US Tax Industry. You should feel horrible. This company needs to burn to the ground. You filed the forms incorrectly requiring me to go in and fix it manually. You have spent millions lobbying Congress to keep the US tax code complex so people need your software. You have actively fought against the IRS creating a free direct filing system. Your interface asks confusing questions that can lead people down the wrong path.

I was disappointed that TurboTax did not ask me about Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit as part of he review process, and would have finished and filed my return without this necessary component being part of my return. If I hadn't questioned why there was no mention of it during this process, my return would have been returned and inaccurate. Health care is such a big part of all senior's returns, and this omission is inexcusable, especially after paying additional money for the "premium" version of TurboTax. TurboTax= fail

Program tax calculations seem to be good. A bit disappointed as follows: Online version version is awkward. Can only build 1 set of tax forms per id. Can't use same email address for other accounts (ids). - - - - - - - THIS PRODUCT ---- (Desktop Premier) Prefer desktop version, like using 'Forms' mode 1) Lost Win 10 support for desktop version even with security updates. Had to update to Win 11. 2) Simple things: Credit card month dropdown does not work past 08. Took 3 tries. Had the SAME problem with 2024 version. Can only enter email address in personal wks using an override. Field is locked Can't check electronic filing without getting it flagged as an error (red)

The process of Using TurboTax was very easy again this year. The only issue arose when It was time to file my returns. The federal submission worked fine, but TurboTax would not allow me to e-file my state return. It said the reason was that I had a 1099 where the state tax withheld and federal tax withheld were the same. That shouldn't have been an e-file show stopper as I did an IRA distribution and specified what I wanted the withholdings to be, and in this case they were the same number. If TurboTax wants to question me to verify that the numbers are correct, that would be fine, but don't eliminate my state e-file option because of it. That created some unnecessary extra steps including a trip to the post office when I should have been able to e-file from the comfort of my office.

The handling of foreign tax credits is horrible. The instructions seem to encourage skipping the credit altogether. Following the instructions requires multiple passes through the calculations to build a file that can be e-filed. This is not professional and does not build confidence in the final answer. Another issue is it is nearly to impossible to match the 1099 downloaded to Turbo Tax with the pdf download so that I know how to answer the question. In addition, question were asked to fill in numbers that Turbo Tax should know from the downloaded 1099.

I have been using Turbo tax for decades.Has always been user friendly. However, this year very difficult to import from financial companies. The Schedule D portion of my return was very frustrating. All prior year Turbo Tax schedule D info was simple.

I have been using TT since 1988 and I have to say this time has been a real nightmare. Not near as user friendly as in the past. I had to really work to find things. I did this yrs taxes 4 times and every time it was different and a different outcome. Sadly next yr I am thinking about having my taxes done. IF this yrs was done by AI then I'm done with TT. AI is NOT good !!!!!!!!!!
