Turbo Tax has gone down hill over the last few years. I have been a user since its inception. I am not happy with the screens for adding dividends, interest and stocks. These used to be separate and generally easier to enter data. This year my submission failed because the IRS was requiring pins from us. Why did'nt Turbo TAX alert me to this requirement before I submitted the return. On one of the last screen there are 5 digit efile pins but the one the IRS wanted was a 6 digit pin and both myself and wife had to acquire those from the IRS. and search within Turbotax to enter those, never prompted. I really should be giving TT a two star review instead of 3.

Software seems to have more bugs this year - had to fix several fields that did not correctly import from last year's filings, or strange defaults were auto-selected. Be sure to double-check the fields. UI/UX had strange bugs too. We are paying a lot of money for this software to be experiencing quality issues like this. Not pleased at all.

Turbotax has gone downhill this year. It lags without showing its even running, I have to run it in admin mode and it keeps asking me to pay again for things I've already paid for. I'm very much contemplating switching next year after being I believe a 15+ year customer. Unfortunately, thumbs down this year. I hear that I'm not the only one. I suggest that you issue a public apology and explain why you will do better next year. It's that bad.

Once I would have given turbotax 5 stars. But no longer. Don't use online vendors such as Big HomeTax to purchase Turbotax software, as they are unreachable and have apparently scammed me with a SOFTWARE license number that was cancelled the day before they sold it to me... The problem with Turbotax here is that they can clearly see that Big Home Tax is operating online and they DON'T SHUT THEM DOWN. INTUIT/TURBOTAX, SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING BIG ENOUGH TO BE THE #1 SOFTWARE FOR TAXES BUT NOT STOPPING FRAUDSTERS / SHUTTING DOWN THOSE WHO ARE STEALING FROM YOU AND YOUR CUSTOMERS in BROAD INTERNET DAYLIGHT.

This year, as will be the case for the upcoming years, I needed to report a non taxable foreign pension (exemption under a tax treaty). I talked to three different TurboTax experts and got three completely different answers/approaches: I was told to trick the system (enter a fake 1099-R with a fake TIN), to not report the pension (the backup IRS publications referred to were irrelevant), and last to have a CPA prepare my taxes because TurboTax cannot handle this situation. I found out on the TurboTax Community Forums that I am not an isolated case. TurboTax needs to offer the option to report a non taxable foreign pension properly. Also, I have had to file by mail because TurboTax does not support Form 5471. Hopefully this form will be supported in the near future.

You could improve the way you display investment titles. I have 3 Schwab accounts. The way you display them they all have the same title so I can't tell them apart. Solution: Allow the customer to have a 3 or 4 digit identification field so we will know which is which.

In the deduction section, it didn't guide me to all the deduction categories before that section was 'Done'; I had to manually go to the Charitable Contribution and Car property tax sections to enter those info. Then my e-filed Federal tax return was rejected because it said my IP PIN is missing but when I opened the rejected return in the Turbo Tax, the tax return was missing and I had to complete the return again using the draft version the e-file rejected error message was attached to. Then I should have been allowed to re-file at no extra cost since it was TurboTax Smart Review that did not catch the error but I had to pay another $25 to e-file state return after already paying $15 (using $10 credit) in the initial e-file. So I am disputing the $15 charge with my credit card company and basically lost out on $10 credit. Worse experience ever.

Major problem with accessing correct state form. Somehow you think everyone needs to file income taxes in Washington State (not true) and make that the free state download. Yes, some folks will need to file to claim a tax credit, but most do not. Some of us would prefer to use the free state download on another state (in my case, California due to assets related to inheritance). Sounds like a corporate trick to make more money by trying to force me to buy the California download when I (and many others) do not need the Washington State program such as it is.

This year is not good! I am filing a simple return for a friend. The 2025 program requires the AGI to be in cents but the import from 2024 is rounded up. It took several attempts before I realized I needed to add all the W-2s from last year up and then put the Cents on the AGI on the 2025 line before your program would approve the AGI as the same. I have used Turbo Tax Premier for 20+ years and have never had a problem. I uninstalled the Return and reinstalled it and paid my $25.00 twice trying to E File. I'm still trying to get the Return Filed. Now it says it is being rejected by IRS.

I believe this is the 5th year I have used Turbo Tax and I have never spent as much time as checking your prompt to review the item and back and forth until either I got it or your support staff helped (by the way they were very good). I found it quite cumbersome this year since I have spent hours and hours. In any eveynt I finally got it.
