used for 30+years, harder to use every year. Oklahoma filing, Ok. return does not print when ask for preview. Last several years always a wreck a filling time. Can't print Okla. return for Mail in filling. T tax insists on E file, I'm trying to get around it!!

TurboTax helped me file tax return for years. It's easy to use and have good support. But it does not have form 8997 for Opportunity zone fund. I need to send separately by mail. Next year Opportunity zone fund needs to pay capital gain, please add this into tax return, so I can still use TurboTax to file tax return. Thanks.

I did have trouble transferring info from last years return and the person who answered the phone was helpful. It turned out all I needed to do was restart my computer. Please do not discontinue the desktop version of TurboTax. I am more adept at using the forms than the Q&A format.

TurboTax desktop: Install is problematic on Windows 11. Not to mention the TurboTax update just hangs and had to reinstall to workaround the issue by downloading the updated version. In the midway trying to launch the TurboTax program on windows 11 it gets blocked. There is no way run it even with Admin Privilege.

I like that TurboTax shows me last years number versus the current year. This feature is super helpful and boosts my confidence that I got everything. I like that I can import much of my data from my brokerage and payroll provider. The extra validation checks are re-assuring like the audit risk meter and such. Why not five stars? A couple years ago I filed using the online/web product. TurboTax didn't tell me how much it would cost until I had already completed my taxes and was ready to file. I was charged more than twice as much as the desktop product for pretty much the same return as the previous year. I felt so betrayed, but I wasn't ready to spend another four hours doing it all over. Never again! In addition TurboTax doesn't seem to innovate very much from year to year. I feel like I'm only getting tax law updates between versions. That's essential but I consider it tables stakes for a tax product in 2026. What would be innovative? Build a helper AI agent custom trained or with RAG so I get answers to my tax questions with the latest info from the IRS. For example I had no idea what "qualified business income" was. Qualified for what? to win a pony? I went to the IRS site, looked up qualified business income for schedule C and then feed that along with my circumstances to ChatGPT to get a plain English answer and recommendation for how to answer. TurboTax could have done all that for me via a baked-in AI agent and said "The TurboTax agent recommends that you say yes based on your tax circumstances". It could have then provided the data sources with all the usual AI hallucinates disclaimers.

WHAT I LIKED? THE IMPORTING OF DATA FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES. SAVED SO MUCH TIME ON INPUTTING INFO. NOW THE PROBLEM: A WEIRD GLITCH PREVENTS THE UPLOADING OF LAST YEAR'S TAX FORM UNTIL YOU EXIT THE PROGRAM AND RELOAD. TOOK ME 45 MINUTES OF RESEARCHING THE WEB TO DISCOVER THE REMEDY THAT SOMEONE ELSE REPORTED. EVEN TURBOTAX EXPERTS DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER. IF THIS ISSUE HAD BEEN READILY NOTED THEN I WOULD'VE HAVE BEEN DONE EVEN SOONER.

I would generally give Turbo Tax a 4 or even 5 star rating, but this year, while completing our taxes, it suggested we upgrade to Premier due to our capital gains and losses. We spent the $35 to upgrade to only have the software not prompt us to complete the required form - we had to research and find (within the forms list) on our own. The upgrade was a waste of money.

Turbo tax makes data entry fairly simple with some simple links to my stock accounts. I wish there was an automatic interface to handle stock options and short sales without having to go in and modify the cost basis and sales information to account for losses. One minor complaint is the final tax review process. I thought I was all done and ready to file when I got an error message that said the latest version was not up to date. I had to get out of the final step only to reload the latest version of TurboTax. Yes, it's only a minor inconvenience but it seems that final software update should have been programmed in right before the final tax review. Overall. Turbotax is a great tool and timesaver.

I want to enter data myself, not pull from institutions. on the laptop that means scroll down, pick enter myself for every number entered. two extra steps for each financial piece of information. tedious. direct pick for entering numbers would be nice. i prefer to efile feds and mail state. yes to save money. to get to state print i have to go thru a step saying i want to paper submit my fed taxes (after i have already efiled feds). not clear. not intuitive. need a direct or better explained way to get to state paper submission

I have been a Turbo Tax customer for many years and have enjoyed and appreciated the function and accurate software. But this year Turbo Tax should have stopped me with a warning that I could not receive a paper check for my Federal return refund. I have just received a letter from the IRS stating that my bank account info had to be updated within 30 days pursuant to Executive Order 14247 "no paper checks". It would have been better to know and easier when filing. Disappointed..
