For the most part, this is a very good product.... There are a few changes I would suggest. I try to import my 1099 forms to speed up data entry. During the review process, the program would post a form (in my case a 1099) with one of more fields that were missing or needing review. However it would list list the broker, but not the account number. I have multiple accounts with several of my brokers, so this leads to some confusion. Also, your auto-import tends to translate blank fields as zeroes. Sometimes zero is not an acceptable value for the field and I have to manually change it back to a blank. Finally, at the start of the process, I am asked if forms from the previous years (1099-R, INT, DIV) are still applicable to the current year. I assume they would be, but some accounts might have a one of these one year and not the next depending on whether withdrawals were made. Then during the review, I am asked to fill in amounts for a form that doesn't apply, for an uncertain account (see note above) not realizing that the form is not needed at all this year. I would suggest that when the review process finds a totally blank form that was expecting, you would first just ask if the form was still necessary for this year.

The data was easy to input, and I trust the calculations. I would just input some data each day. When I was finished, I clicked File and then Save. It would save a new Turbo Tax icon on my laptop each time, Who do I call? Turbo Tax also listed the same person's taxes as a new return 3 times. Even though I have only done 1 tax return, my Turbo Tax is showing 3 tax returns. I have used Turbo Tax for years. I never had this problem before.

The turbotax software can feel predatory to use. When moving through filing, fees add up and there is little explanation or transparency as to where costs come from or why they are added. This problem could be solved by adding an intial pricing feature "Hey here is our updated prices and why they are there!" , or even an intial tax entry with something like "Lets get you started on our Pricing Feature- Dont worry, information here will carry over to return once you select your level" Not that I expect somthing like this to actually happen, but it would increase my trust the program and build confidence about avoiding hidden fees. Also, this AI generated review topic box is annoying, every time a new 'suggested review topic' is selected it deletes the text I am typing. If I am typing quickly sometimes it deletes a whole line. I cant select them either? They just appear and dissappear randomly as I type...

Guidance in how to switch from Easy Steps to Forms and back is non-existence. Software for RMDs is defective. One of my accounts did not require an RMD this year, but I did take a withdrawal. I could not get the withdrawal to satisfy the RMD for another accunt until I said that the RMD requirement for the first ccount was $1(even though that was not true). You should have fixed this because I found in a TurboTax chat in the spring of 2025 that this was the necessary work around. Also, space in software for including an explanation on Form 5329 is strange and difficult to use.

For at least FOUR YEARS, your software has not properly considered my itmemized deductions and has defaulted to Standard Deduction. I missed it the first time and had to file an adjusted return the next year to recover a few hundred dollars in taxes paid. It happened again this year. I had to dig into the forms themselves and figure out why TurboTax didn't account for either my mortgage interest or my property tax. I'm considering going to another tax software next year.

Turbo is usually great, however this year the import process had a bit of a security issue. I understand this can happen and things change but turbo tax should have posted a solution to fix security hang up. Instead they recommended manual entry of transactions. Solution is to reset permissions to access local network.

TurboTax is terrific (I've been using since '82-82). It is fast, accurate and easy to update with changes. It may be a large part of why I've never been audited. All of the live tax support personnel have been patient and easy to work with (plus they were polite, professional, knowledgeable and focused).

More complicated this year than last. Many more questions to answer with less clarity. Depth of explanations were shallow. Should have been easier with new tax changes from BBB, but not as straightforward as before. Had to dig out information to gain complete information on what was being required.

I really like Turbo Tax, but I found this new version a little unfriendly to use. It could be it was just that much different from the old version that I wasn't used to it but I didn't feel the information and follow through was presented as clearly in the past versions.

Turbo Tax worked great. Have been using for over 20 years. The Foreign Tax Credit is difficult to use and I feel I left Foreign Tax Credit on the table. Instruction vague and not easy to understand and could only get one of 7 countries to get through to credit calculation . After 3 hours of trying gave up. Could not get through to Turbo Tax . did not take the highest number / country I entered left over $500 of credit behind. Made the statement in wording I could get up to $600 credit for Married filing joint but gave no instructions, gave nothing to help. This is poor Turbo tax!
