Turbo Tax is overall a good tax perpetration my experience over the years has been taxing with the downloads freezing in mid process. This year it was good quick down load and as usual the install took some time but that is a given with the software. I can not speak on compatibility because most of the inputs except financial down loads are manual. Have not used any other tax soft ware ex. tax act so I can't comment.

Not as intuitive as previous years. Could not electronically pull in data from investment companies like JPM or Fidelity. Got "flags" in the summary view that my entries for IRAs and pension "Needed Review" but no links or instructions of how to do that or why it was being flagged.

Imports previous year well, and you can move between Internet or Desktop - Desktop is more user friendly, you can see the full tax forms at any time. I had to use Support this year, and my agent was excellent - very helpful and patient. E-filing was very efficient.

Very difficult experience this year with the desktop software. Had to do my returns twice due to branching questions that went no where and called out forms that did not exist in my last year's returns. Could have been my own lack of knowledge, but have never had these issues in previous years. Seemed like the "interview" questions were not as intuitive. I gave this year's TurboTax Premier Edition a 3 because, yes, I could eventually efile my taxes, but it was a huge headache.

I need to be able to save and NOT print all the tax documents. I am using the desktop version and do not see how to just save. I already printed it. I don't need to print it again. Also how do I save the 2025 return as a .tax2025 file. I have zero idea and am frustrated.

This product has seriously declined in quality in recent years. The online version is more expensive and lacks the form view. Additionally, it will skip parts relevant to my return, forcing me to hunt them down (at least the help system is good). The continual selling of add-ons and paid help is obnoxious.

TurboTax does not handle 1099-R forms correctly when the Taxable Amount is less than the Gross distribution. According to a Level-15 member of the Community regarding input of 1099-R forms, "TTX messed it up totally this year." I struggled with trying to get TTX to enter the correct amount and bypass the need for the Simplified Method Worksheet. Thankfully, I received great advice from the Community member that allowed me to avoid that confusing form.

When I had to correct errors on the form that the checker tool identified, mainly missing recipient's address, city and zip code (due to the incomplete form import) or the determination of investments being digital vs. non-digital assets, I had to correct 392 errors by clicking each attribute one by one, which took over an hour. There should have been a bulk update on the same type o responses.

Overall it was a good experience. The call line was very responsive. It should be easier to change bank account numbers and to change between getting a refund or applying to next year. It took quite a lot to change from applying refund to next year to come out on the face of the statement. I could change in the worksheets, but it would not come out on the face properly. The support line helped me with however and it was fine.

TURBO TAX HAS THE OPTION TO CHOOSE DIRECT DEPOSIT OR HAVE A REFUND MAILED. HOWEVER, STARTING FOR 2025 YEAR RETURNS, THE IRS CHANGED THE RULES AND THEY DON'T MAIL OUT REFUND CHECKS. AFTER TALKING TO THE IRS, WHILE NOT STATED ANYWHERE, ACTUALLY WILL MAIL OUT A REFUND IF YOU WAIT 30 DAYS. THAT STIPULATION SHOULD BE AN OPTION ON A REFUND SITUATION AND STATED AS TO SUCH, OR JUST REMOVE THE OPTION TO GET A REFUND BY MAIL.
