My main issue is how you changed downloading information from brokerage houses and interest sources. this used to be simple but now it took me to a screen that did not have enough information on it to determine what was needed. You need to understand that someone may get 3 or more forms from the same investment company. I'd be happy to talk with you on this. I started with Macintax in the 80's and then your product. Hyperlinks to get more information appear to just go to the main TurboTax page. There an additional search is needed, rather than connecting to relevant information. Additionally, search results on the TurboTax page are less relevant than in the past. Also, tax return printing features are not as good as in previous versions. Printing of the tax forms for link defaults to printing of a copy for home records. Additionally, When printing is done, it doesn't ask if you want to save a personal copy, so you have to click back a low to get there.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and this was by far the most difficult experience I have had. Not only did the online only off me one option (and more of a service than I needed) but when I purchased a license for the service at a local retail store I was bombarded with offers to upgrade and very little support to simply use the version I needed and paid for. I will be exploring other options with other tax software next year.

Th is no guidance or clean way to handle interest paid by a foreign bank that does not have EIN. I spent two hours on this issue and finally AI figured out how to report it in a way EIN was not required. I had to go through several trials to delete the 1099 MISC form I had created and enter it in W2 section of the other reportable income.

Step by Step has become more confusing in recent years. Want to be able to return to specific step instead of being required to go through dozen pages or more in order to review or correct. Explanations are hard to follow. Uploading information directly from banks and brokerage accounts is too complicated and fewer banks [e.g. Mechanics] are listed. Have been able to upload from Bank America in past; this year all efforts to do so froze and I had to enter information manually.

I didn't care for the format changes made this year, as I was used to the previous format and the new step-through entry process kept making me feel that I missing things. Found myself going back to recheck entries. Also import from my e*Trade account never worked as I have a 2-step verification and it kept telling me that info returned from the institution said that I was entering incorrect login/password info. I was able to log in via my cell, so I knew that my entries were accurate.

If you are doing a basic filing of taxes then turbotax is definitely the way to go. However, last year I sold some rental property and working through turbo tax to file the sale of rental property was an absolute nightmare!!!!!!!!!! If there had not been a number of you tube videos out showing how to file using Turbo Tax I would never have finished it. I've used Turbo Tax for over 20 years and this year was aweful. Terrible software for doing this.

Just one area was confusing, during review of one of my states, it stated the State Tax withheld for that state did not match the amount in my federal tax form. But it did not take or show me the area that is was missing from. Found the answer in the online help after a while of searching. Filling out information for the Codes in a K-1 is also a little tricky...

TurboTax 25 charges $25 ro file my state return. When I tried to enter my credit card information, it would NOT let me enter any month beyond 10 (October) for the expiration date. Very, very frustrating. I will definitely consider using a different tax payment app next year.

Straightforward to go through. Intuitive and eas to use. Seems accurate (though, how would I really know?). Would be nice if the new senior deductions were shown explicitly, to see if I qualified for the max amount or if I'm in the phase-out range.
