The Premier Desktop program was good, as usual, but it had a couple of problems in the income entry area that required calls for support. The business I was receiving income from was not listed in the search list and required what I would call a work around. The hold time to talk to a tax expert was very long, but once I was able to talk to the expert, help was outstanding.

I had a couple of issues that made doing the taxes more dificult than it should have been. 1) when putting information for 1099-dev, 1099-int and another 1099 topic I downloaded the information from my broker. When it asked me to review the information for each, it only showed the broker name. I have 7 accounts with that broker. It should show at least PART of the account number when I get to that stage. 2) on my 1095-a , my column B was zero for all months. Although it did not affect me as i do not itemize, it would not let me enter the form as it was sent to me. (You don't believe me? I will show you) I made up a reasonable number and submitted that instead as it didn't matter. 3) If I leave the "interview method" of entering information for whatever reason, I would like a button to return me to the interview where I left off. Could not find a good way to do that other than getting out of TurboTax and returning. Other than those things, I love the product. Have been using it since I did it character based on my 286 computer under DOS. Thanks

* After update, says "Continue using Turbotax" click that but half of the time, it doesn't restart. * Updater Preferences window is HUGE and can't be resized, can't see the OK button at the bottom. * There are two Import Financial Institutions both names Charles Schwab & Co., Inc (one has a period at the end and the other doesn't). * You ask me "Did <you> make any nondeductible IRA contributions to your traditional IRA in prior years?" YOU KNOW if I answered Yes to this in my prior tax return, in that case you shouldn't be asking me again, or at least you should prepopulate the correct answer if it was previously Yes in a prior year, or give me a different more intelligent prompt like "We see last year you had nondeductible IRA contributions, would you like to work on this now?" * Need to pop-up/use web browser to IMPORT data and give it some weird permission, very odd and uncomfortable, not happy this couldn't be done all within the TurboTax software like it was in all prior years. * Near the end of "Installing Updates," The progress number goes to some wacky value like "-684562%, >45 minutes" for a few seconds. * Saved my work and exited, when I came back it did not remember where I left off, it brought me back to the complete beginning. * You asked about my spouses nondeductible prior year IRA contributions, and her account value (from form 5498), but not about mine. * You have a screen that says "Let's enter <your> HSA contributions in 2024" and all the numbers are zero, you imported my 2024 return so you should have prepopulated this with the correct info, not have me dig through my old return which you already imported. * Sometimes you prepopulate a Zero ($0) in a field, then when I click into that field and start typing, you don't erase the zero, so my entry shows up with a leading zero, it probably doesn't matter but it just shows how careless your programming and testing has become. * When starting the Deductions section, I chose "Walk me through everything" and then it tells me "We've covered 2 of 10 sections, select Next to continue" - Um, no you didn't cover any sections yet, why did you skip the first two?

After a respite where we had more complex returns given the death of two family members, we came back to compete our own return (which we had done for years previously). TurboTax never ceases to amaze me with its simplicity that can make a moderately complicated return seem easy with the guided process. The ability to import records from our investment providers is such a powerful function that make it possible for us to do the return ourselves. It's good to back with TurboTax!

OVERALL EXPERIENCE VERY GOOD. WHEN TRYING TO USE CREDIT CARD TO PAY TO EFILE STATE RETURN, THE DROPDOWN BUTTON FOR THE MONYH OF MY CARD EXPIRATION DATE PLACED THE 10 0VER THE BQCK BUTTON TO THE INFO WAS NO ADDED TO THE FORM. i HAD TO USE A DIFFERENT CARD WITH A JANUARY EXPIRATION DATE TO ENTER THE INFORMATION

Tax law (and forms) are quirky at best, and hard to follow frequently. To deal with that, TT sometimes collects information is a place not necessarily expected, or hard to find again later. Self employed business deductions are included in the business income section - and once you learn/understand, then it is easier, but easy. Also, reading tax docs from financial institutions is great, but I need to be able to edit the name afterwards to distinguish between accounts. But overall I think I save m oney and understand more when I do it myself with TT.

The initial download took quite a while and required on my part with continued restarts. Once I began using the program, it was very straightforward. I am not sure if you planned double up on the production of two copies of the file to mail packages. It just gives me another set of forms in case the first gets lost in the mail.

This year your program was kind of buggy and the interface not as good as last year. When I went to enter data for 1099 forms the program would not let me enter anything. Spent the whole afternoon trying to get it to work. Finally had to search online to find a work around. Luckily it looks like it got fixed in an update. The way you display the list of accounts when doing 1099 forms takes up too much vertical space - don't need so much blank space around each account as it limits how much i ca see at one time on the screen. Also, why do you NOT do form 8990? It would not that complicated for the TT to fill it out. It is somewhat confusing (due to poor irs instructions) on how to fille out and takes me a lot of extra time as i need to figure out how to do it. Also, anyone who needs a 8990 must now file by mail not by e-file as there is no way to add it to the return.

Turbotax software gets worse every year. This year, the it wouldn't let me file electronically. Also, it would not show the previous year's information, even though it was also Turbotax. When I tried to get help from your Chat, I was asked for yet more money. NO WAY! I've used Turbotax for several years, but 2025 will be the last.

Completed and filed tax return by e-file using a desktop version. Received a refund. Needed to amend the tax return. Turbo tax is telling me that I have not e-filled the taxes and I have to print it. Cannot get to preview or print the amended state tax return. Some field that may be left "blank", Turbotax is telling me there is an error. There is no enough information how to fill or avoid filling these lines (Schedule C). I would like to see the real form to review, not just questions.
