It took forever to get updated to a useable version this year. The ability to download information from financial institutions also came out late. The constant nagging to use the on-line version was irritating. I tried the on-line version and it didn't work at all. There are problems with the RMDs and my brokerage firm since they gave me two 1099R forms: one for my QCD and one for the withdrawal. I had to guess how to handle it. Also basic information like my name and address did not transfer.

I had to BUY a windows 11 computer to do my Taxes. With all the hacking going on, I DO NOT trust you or feel comfortable doing this online., In fact I WILL be looking for alternatives. Ever since you quit sending out a CD just to save pennies and then raised the price anyway, I have been displeased.

The product was noticeable worse this year than in previous years, with basic flaws and incapacities. For example, in step-by-step mode it was impossible to add supporting details. There were certain line items that appeared, and no way to find where they came from, or links to instructions to understand what was happening. The program is still good, but the rate of degradation is alarming. Apparently you don't even want to take the review, just keep cycling back to this lousy AI-infested interface, that is incompatible with my typing and keeps introducing typos. I'll just add some words support maybe so you'll accept it, shall I?

My financial institution, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, was not listed in the menu of options as it had been in years past. This added substantial time to the completion of my return as I had to enter all data manually and double check my entries manually. Merrill is a partner with Turbo Tax and I don't understand how it could have been omitted.

Navigating is painful and certain state forms are not available (CT PET) and you don't find that out until you pay for the state. Last year was understandable given CT's late ineptitude and late publication of the form, but that should have been remedied for the 2025 returns.

Very frustrated with changes this year. Offline experience was awful - icons for editing were hidden, so initially I didn't think I could edit anything after making a mistake. I started the return over again 3 times, got frustrated and downloaded other software - you will be happy to know that despite the bad interface with Turbotax, it was still better than theirs. Editing changes in Turbotax was very hard, even after I found the hidden icons that allowed me to change the items that said "Needs Review", but didn't allow pressing the "Needs Review" button. I don't like the new formatting for entering 1099s, where there are big squares and you need to mouse around to start. Why can't we just go back to the spreadsheet/table format, where you ask for 1099 and just enter everything all at once, rather than the back and forth required now. Also, I hate constantly saying that I don't want to import information - where is the box that says 'Don't ask anymore'? Charitable deduction entry is extremely harder than it was last year. The ability to sort the charitable organizations by name disappeared, so I had to scan down the entire list from last year to find each charity to enter my donation. Entering the Goodwill donations was a nightmare. The lookup tool to find pricing was really hard to use. Where is It's Deductible, or, if you aren't going to use that anymore, can you at least use a similar lookup, so I don't have to try to guess what wording to use to look up the price of a man's T-shirt? Clearly, I would very much like to find a different software than Turbotax, because you have ruined it. I would have given only one star if that other software wasn't worse.

I bought the $60 tax advice option. The original person who called me setup a time to call me back, but she never called me back. I had to request another tax expert. That person called me and her computer wasn't working right. She had to go offline and restart her computer. It took about 20 minutes. When she got back she could only see portions of my computer screen. Frustrating.

Interview process was not as good as 2024. Summary only show limited info not full form. The auto download added account that was empty even though confirmed 2024 accounts. Download unclear what was downloaded in interest / div section. Adding QCD donations from RMD not clear. To review account as requested had to select manual download.

This year's product was glitchy and not enough explanation besides looking up on IRS site or using AI for questions. Some steps don't make sense ore TTax was not doing steps correctly. Too many gotcha fees also this year. Not super confident taxes are correct. May be harder to use on a MacBook Pro and using Safari as a browser. Know more than a few people

For 2nd year I could not E-file state. After a~1hr session with support last night we gave up and I printed to send. This morning I googled "cannot pay with c card to e-file state return with turbo tax" The suggested fix was to go into settings display change scaling down to 100%. Also to lower screen resolution tp 1024x768. I did this and the continue button on first page of Billing which was previously below and not visible/accesible was there. I was then able to pay & fe-file state. Someone there should know and be available to provide, this was a problem last year as well! Last year after hrs of frustration with various support calls I finally paid $40.00 to have state e-file charge taken from my refund. This year I have no refund so it was not an option. One might think the fact this is a persisting issue and not being addressed, leads to the assumption you like getting the extra $. Please fix this any other vendor doesn't have this issue.
