Check for updates? where is it?

I had one problem with the software when I could not easily find how to check for updates. In the past i remember there being a pop up to check for updates. this time I was prompted to check for updates before continuing but I couldn't remember where to find check for updates so i called TurboTax. While talking to the support person i remembered where it was.

User issue

Turbo Tax has created a program that seems to lock people in and now you want to force people that have been using your program to do it on line. Also, I really want the disk but you no longer seem to see the need for users to have a disk. bottom line, it does suck.

So easy

I use it every year. If anything, the simplicity me question the accuracy, but each time I go back to review specific items it is always correct. It is also comforting to know I can get professional advice and audit protection if peace of mind is a priority.

Some improvements are in order

TurboTax Premier should offer more detailed advice on topics such as how to determine RMDs, whether RMDs are even required for defined-benefit pensions, how to deal with the foreign dividend tax, etc. Also, it would help a lot to include an introductory set of questions about whether the hassle of itemizing deductions is worth it. This would have saved me a couple of hours of data entry this year and last. And I live in a state with no income tax, so all of that is a waste of time.

Remove some 'fear' of IRS.

TurboTax requirement to be installed on drive c: makes a two year TurboTax install, on both PC if upgrading PC, this year and next year as information does not transfer well if not installed on c: drive. There may be 'best practices' to require c: drive install but from 'user' standpoint it would be 'best' if I could install and run from 'other' than c: drive.

could not upload CVS files for crypto transactions like I could last year what happened to this feature? When trying to file online could not use a credit card with an expiration month past 10. It just wouldn't come up in the dropdown box. I had to switch to another credit card with a month less than 10. Couldn't resize the window to show the entire dropdown list if there was a 11 or 12.

Learn more instructions not helpful

I have used turbo tax for 20+ years and this was the first year that I found the "learn more" explanations to be extremely non-helpful. Even pulling the form to review was not enough (usually that is all I need). Had to actually go to irs.gov and download instructions for the form I needed.

Not user friendly at all

Turbo tax is extremely not - user friendly

There is no place when originially completing the return to enter the spouses Identification Protection PIN. After the return is rejected it says to go to federal taxes other tax situations to enter the PIN. However, that screen is just greyed out and does not let you enter anything. When trying to open the form to enter the PIN it does not allow overide option. Nothing works. Support is not available. No phone numbers and AI just says to enter the pin but doesn't help at all with how to do that when the tax program doesn't allow anywhere to input it.

TurboTax still in beta for 20+ years

Some helpful features but lazy software in some ways. Should make live advice free when software has no explanation or steps. CA state capital loss carryover question for example. Divide between desktop and online products is mysterious and frustrating EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I should be able to use both for one price. Can never remember which one to use. Tedious, especially state return which you barely help with yet charge extra to file?

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have been very satisfied with the product. This year i have one issue with the program that I am definitely not satisfied with. In past years I have been able to see the " show form" to be able to check an entry. This year I did not see any page where I could see the "show form". All I saw was "no form". This is a downgrade from what your program used to be in the past.
