I have been a user of Turbo Tax for many years and this year has been a very bad experience. Very riddled with errors. Especially when dealing with 529 distributions. Was not worth the price I paid for the software and I will more than likely move to another poduct.

Turbo Tax worked great. Have been using for over 20 years. The Foreign Tax Credit is difficult to use and I feel I left Foreign Tax Credit on the table. Instruction vague and not easy to understand and could only get one of 7 countries to get through to credit calculation . After 3 hours of trying gave up. Could not get through to Turbo Tax . did not take the highest number / country I entered left over $500 of credit behind. Made the statement in wording I could get up to $600 credit for Married filing joint but gave no instructions, gave nothing to help. This is poor Turbo tax!

TurboTax arbitrarily added a "Canadian Retirement" form, with a stream of questions pertaining to the phantom "Canadian Retirement" which persisted through the whole filing, even though we had no contact or income with Canada. At the final check, the form disappeared. If I had requested paid assistance it would have been a waste of the $60 fee, plus the time on both sides to resolve the nonexistent "Canadian Retirement" issue.

TurboTax is efficient but needs to be a little more user friendly. Interchanging terms such a refund and overpayment can be confusing. additionally, if you are providing an opportunity to use an online and/or a desktop platform, they need to be seamless. The filing pin for online is 5 numbers, whereas the pin for desktop is 4 numbers. I changed to desktop when I had to verify my identity by confirming my 2024 AGI. This wasn't a problem but gave me pause to consider that there may be other inconsistencies if I continued with the online format. I also received an email that I didn't finish filing my return. I opened the email and noted that it was related to my not completing the online filing process. I completed filing with the desktop format after choosing not to use the online format and have confirmed that my returns were accepted by both State and Federal. However, I did not receive an email to that affect, again assuming that there is not a seamless transition between the two formats.

I have been using TurboTax for years. I am confident that my returns are correct. My returns include W2, 1099R, Social Security, Interest Income, Rental Income, and Royalty income. It is very easy to use for income and deductions. I would recommend TurboTax to anyone and save the cost of going to a CPA.

I have been using it for many years, I am confident it does its job. You had a happy customer, but don't increase the license fee. I bought Premier copy of Turbotax this year, but it turns out to Deluxe version on my Mac. Support Center cannot find out why..

Extreme difficulty in communicating with OUS Turbo Tax agents; speech speed, accents, transmission interference. Incorrect information; told my computer desktop software version not compatible with TT and I needed to buy download version. TT declined to refund me for me for desktop version stating beyond 60 day guarantee. Agent had me download TT and had difficulty with it and I reinstalled desktop and with difficulty it worked! Spent hours with TT ous agents troubleshooting TT software issues; at one point TT agent told me to contact IRS for assistance with resolving TT issues! Really? Another agent told me to consider filing an extension and pay estimated taxes to avoid penalties, monitor TT for updates to correct issues, amend my forms accordingly to correct errors. Really? That's what I expect from TT. All in all, it was very time consuming and difficult to use 2025 TT. After years of using TT, I will consider alternatives for 2027.

It is helpful & covers everything (I think), but can be a bit confusing to use: Pop-ups come up behind the screen you are using so you don't know they are there (our biggest frustration); you need to delete some forms that you no longer need or it keeps trying to get you to fill them in; once you are returned to the main list of items to complete it takes you to the top & you have to scroll all the way down - again.

TurboTax worked well for me this year. The only issue I had was related to entering K-1 and K-3 information. TurboTax wouldn't allow multiple counties to be entered on th K-3 like I received them from my investment firm. Turbotax indicted multiple K-1's would have to be entered for each additional country. However, that doesn't work because there is only one source K-1. Entering the K-1 a second time ends up being treaded like a second K-1, so all the numbers get doubled. There was also an issue with entering codes and numbers, where I entered them into TurboTax correctly as requested, but later TurboTax said I had put the numbers where the code is supposed to be. Other than that, TurboTax worked well this year

I've used TurboTax for years and the 2025 version was atrocious. We have rental property. Walking through the sale of rental property was poorly designed. You need to clearly differentiate between a rental "property" and other types of rental assets. It took me about 4 hours to determine how to accurately enter the sale of the property. Also, on the window size for entering credit card payment for the state e-file fee would only display months 1 through 8. There was no ability to scroll to select months 10-12, or to resize the window.
