Disappointed this year

This year was not a good year for TurboTax. Program bugs prevented updates from working; the software had to be removed and re-installed. Forms were not ready until well into 2026 - there is no excuse for not being able to enter Schedule D data and get a reasonable estimate, perhaps based on prior year or tentative tax law, as soon as the early releases are available. The software does not remember choices made on the tail end of forms ("None of these apply"). Thumbnails (for example, of downloaded forms) should show additional details (for example, T,S, or J for 1099s) Some fields generated from downloaded data print so small as to be illegible both on screen and in printed forms. It prompts at every opportunity to sign up for additional services that were previously declined. Really disapointed this year,year.

Unexpected problems

I have been unable to print out estimated tax forms that do not say DO NOT FILE. I was also disappointed that I had to mail in my Colorado taxes because of my husbands death. Turbotax should have let me file them and let me upload the forms needed to the necessary web site. This is the first year that I have had problems with Turbotax.

Great software but has some flaws

Both last year and this year, when I submitted my Federal tax return with TurboTax, I was notified from the IRS that my return was Rejected. I had to physically go into Deductions & Credits and under Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) fill in the information that was required. Then refile my return with the IRS. TurboTax should be prompting me for this information as I had already listed that I had a Form 1095-A. Hopefully this can be fixed for upcoming years.

Very unhappy with this year's product

I am very disappointed with this year's Turbo Tax. It took until March to correct one of the forms. It is getting more expensive as well. This year also had a bunch of weird and, it seems, unnecessary questions. You are making it hard to continue purchasing your product.

watch out for this TurboTax mistake

Features: Charitable donations need to be organizable in alphabetical order. Accuracy: on page 1 of Form 1040-SR, there is a check box labeled "Check here if your main home, and your spouse's if filing a joint return, was in the US for more than half of 2025". As I entered that I lived at the same address in Maryland during the entirety of 2025, that box should have been checked in my tax return, but the TurboTax program would not add the checkmark and I wasn't able to add it at the review stage.

Not Happy

I had to wait on Turbo Tax to update depreciations before I could file. I also had an issue getting my last year's return linked. It took me several week and about 5-7 hours total trying to accomplish this before I coul file my return. Would you be happy?

TurboTax has gone downhill

The worst filing experience ever. I've been using TT desktop since it was on 5.25 discs and this year it was painful. The TT site only wanted to start a filing online, questions were never answered. When I attempted to access TT2024 which was still installed on my desktop I needed an activation number to view after it updated?? Constant upgrade requirements, annoying digs for more money... Next year I'm finding another filing method

TurboTax is ok

I didn't speak with anyone at TurboTax. My concern is that when I was ready to transmit our returns there were 2 errors to fix before I could transmit returns successfully. Why wasn't this corrected in the review section before I got to screen that said everything looked good and ready for sending the returns? I never experienced this fault in all the years I have been using TurboTax. Thank you

Keep coming back for decades

We have used Turbotax for decades. The program isn't quite as easy to use as it used to be, but we continue to like and use the desktop product. Certainly no comparison to trying to do this manually, as we have a lot of deductions and other credits. I feel confident knowing I don't have to check my own math with the calculations being done for us.

First Time User

This is the first time I have used TurboTax. It was a chore, BUT I had a cadre of amazing people helping me throughout my ordeal. I am sold on the ease of use with the caveat "after the first time". The format is simple, straightforward, and if you're well prepared, easy to navigate. I am fully committed to the 2026 program. The internal features are well articulated, and the compatibility with IRS forms is very accurate. I'm glad to have had the experience. It will be repeated.
