Honestly It was just the worst to use. I am a student and I have scholarships that I got, I filed in two states, and there was just so many ways this could've been easier. you enter one thing and you see you tax return go from refund 1000 dollars to ow 300 and you are just confused as to what went wrong because what you entered was a scholarship amount, and then 30 minutes later it asks you if the thing you entered was a scholarship and was supposed to be included and then it jumps back to 1000 dollar refund. I hate turbotax

Overall, I really like TurboTax (I've used it for over 30 Years! [Wow is right]). But I specifically like the “Desktop” version (NOT the “Online” version). I say this because when I first updated my TurboTax this year (2026), I was asked to “convert” over to the Online version. I didn't give the reason why (then) but will now. The “online” environment (and platform) has one MAJOR problem – It can “hacked.” (as you are REQUIRED to have your data [uploaded and stored] on YOUR corporate computer system). I am speaking as a Ph.D. (in Technology) – so I can say (with certainty) that ALL systems can be “Hacked.” So, with that, I will NEVER be interest in going to (and use) the “Online” version – unless Intuit and 100% GUARANTEE that their system will NEVER get (or be) hacked. This is, of course, absurd (as NO system is 100% untouchable). The ONLY way that I “may” consider the Online Platform is if your company would provide a 1 Million dollar guarantee (to all customers) in the event that your system is EVER hacked (no matter how “minor” [or major] it may happen). Meaning, that your company would give ALL customers an immediate one million dollars (per customer) if your systems are ever hacked (not piece mill). If you (Intuit) is stupid enough to give such an all encompassing (and immediate/no question [or excuses]) guarantee then let me know. I believe (from my expertise) that this would be a instant "win" (for me - and others), as I believe you will (eventually) have to pay out Billions of dollars. I hate the online version of Turbo Tax - much happier with Desktop option. However, my computer can't be updated to Windows 11. This desktop app needs to be compatible with Windows 10. How dare you force me to spend hundreds of dollars on a new computer that I don't need.

you dont support windows 10 any longer causing me all kinds of head aches, when I went to pay to file my "free E file" of $65 your credit card link wouldn't work so I had to have my free file fees taken out of my return causing more head aches just all round sucked this year.

When it came time to file taxes, I was unable to do so because all of my credit cards had an expiration month after August. The user interface would not allow me to enter any month beyond 8. I used help and followed the recommendation, but they did not solve the problem. I find it unacceptable that a product has such a blatant bug that will not allow certain credit cards. I ended up using a reserve card that had an earlier expiration month. This was not my desired choice.

Turboxtax has been stubbornly notorious for the final check before filing. It kept asking to FIX issues such as answering Digital Asset on 1099-B for high volume trader. They are PDF file from broker. We had 260 trades from Chase. I'd click NO and Continue 260 times each. That will be 520 clicks! STUPID Intuit.

It is easy to use and intuitive, except that there are some improvements that I would suggest: Make home office deductions for partners easier to use and track and deduct from self employment income. Note that generally, partners who receive a K-1 do not file a Schedule C. QBI income and deductions should not require manual calculations.

TurboTax and their reps and employees hold accuracy, compatibility, their features, the user interface and providing support to their customers at a very high standard. Thank you TurboTax for all that you did for my family and I. We appreciate all of your arduous work to provide a seamless interface for your customers. overall ok. I was frustrated on how to report the backdoor roth conversion. Had to spend a lot of time on this. In addition, i had to spend a lot of time on the double tax reporting from sales of NQSOs shown in and also box 12V in W2 and reconciling with 1099-B

I found the on-line version confusing and I didn't see a direction, I felt lost with random questions. I found that I could download the program to my computer (which I surprised me- I thought this was an on-line only program) and that is how I finished and e-filed. With on-line, state e-filing seemed to cost me $39 with no mention of credit, while using the downloaded version e-filing state was only $15 (after $10 credit). I'll be definitely looking at other products next year.
