Navigation around TurboTax is still a little confusing. Especially getting back to where you were before looking back to check an amount or electing to do some parts as Easy Step or Choose your own steps. NYS Inflation Refund Checks data entry procedure not well done

I have used TurboTax for years, maybe decades, and this version was the hardest to use. Something as simple as marking a value estimated has been changed from a simple right click to a menu option that I only found after I didn't need it anymore. I use TurboTax so that I don't have to pay someone to do my taxes but TurboTax pushes for me to pay for extra advice.

One small item that I encountered that scared me for a couple of days. There are two occurrences of Wells Fargo in your import dropdown selection. The first is the bank and the second is for Wells Fargo Advisors. Yet, the second one is called Wells Fargo Clearing Services. The bank selection showed the import documents were available, but Turbotax kept giving me an error code on the import. The second option didn't have the documents available for about five days, unbeknownst to me. After the five days, the documents were available and I quit sweating after a successful import.

I've used TT for years and I love it. Never had a problem with my filed returns. This year it seemed that I had to do a little more work to complete my return. I would prefer that TT bring forward all my info from the previous year and let me edit anything that has changed. Also it would be great if last years data was presented beside this years data entry fields so that it would be easy to check my entries for reasonability while I'm entering them.

Filing 2025 was relatively easy. Estimating my 2026 estimated tax was somewhat confusing. I finally got it to work, BUT this 2025 version would not allow me to enter the expected withholding from our IRA distributions. The 2024 version had a place to enter expected withholding. It defaulted to the 2024 withholdings and would not let me override it. This caused the quarterly estimates to be overstated, thus making the payment vouchers incorrect. I will have to override the vouchers manually.

In years past, I have consistently rated TTP with a 5 Star rating, but I'm only giving it 4 Stars because I had several problems with entering data. The section dealing with my 1099R had to be revisited several times in order to update the 2025 figures. And during one of the attempts, I completely killed my entire return and sent me back to "start a new return", a most distressing occurrence!!! I am not happy with all the revised format changes because I have been using TTP for many years now and I found the new formatting to be cumbersome to use. Otherwise, I am pleased with the product overall, as I have been in the past. I would have given 3 Stars because of my level of frustration, but felt that would have been too harsh on ths excellent product.

EVERYTHING WORKED FINE UNTIL I TRIED TO E-FILE MY RETURNS. ON FINAL CKECK FOR ERRORS, TURBOTAX PROGRAM KEPT TELLING MY THAT THERE WAS AN ERROR IN CA FORM 540, LINE 12 WAGES OF "9797".. iT SAID TO GO TO THE W-2 WORKSHHET AND FIX THE ERROR. I OPENED THE FORMS TAB AND LOOKED FOR A W-2 WORKSHEET. THERE WAS NONE SINCE I DID NOT HAVE ANY W-2'S OR WAGES. I TRIED PUTTING A ZERO ON LINE 12 OF FORM 540. i GOT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE TO FIX THE FEDERAL W--2 WORKSHEET. I GOT THE SAME ERROR AGAIN. FINALLY, I DELETED THE 0 ON LINE 12 AND LEFT IT BLANK. I WAS FINALY ABLE TO E-FILE FED AND CALIFOAX RETURNS. THERE IS A GLICH SOMEWHERE IN YOUR PROGRAM.

I have used Turbo Tax for decades, and, when I use it, I find that the tool knows more than I do. Entering data is simple with the guided prompts. When there is a confusing section, the help option clears up what i needed. The state return is basically completed using the info from the federal return. E-file is great.

The overall experience with TurboTax is wonderful as usual. I'm extremely disappointed that TurboTax did not print out the quarterly estimated taxes vouchers for the next year like you always had in the past. If you can tell me how to do that, it would be appreciated.

Two small issues: 1. Instructions for Form 8949 are obtuse. All I needed to include was the 1099-B detail page for trans with non-reported cost basis. 2. After deductions & credits, review page ERRONEOUSLY shows vehicle registration fees added to PRIOR year standard deduction.
