I have been using Intuit tax desktop software since the early days of MacInTax. Never have experienced any problems or inaccuracies. I trust their products to be easy to use and up to date on all tax law changes. And I have for many years had returns with incomes in multiple states. As my tax returns have increased in complexity, I have moved up the scale of their various product offerings. While I think some of their add-on item pricing is a bit high, the convenience always wins out when it is time to actually file my returns.

First, you had already automatically billed me for your product, but you made it as difficult as possible to get to it. Second, I have done two returns for years with your software, and we got married, and you did not care about the second return--really poor software.

i have several accounts with my financial institution. Turbo Tax (TT) works well in downloading them. However, I can find no way to easily distinguish between them; they all show up as "name of institution." Several years ago, I was able to add the last four numbers of the account to that title, but that no longer seems to be possible. Also (although it's a nit) on the download from financial institutions page, TT shows logos from various companies. Among them was the logo of Wells Fargo Advisors. But when I tried to download, the two options for Wells Fargo was the bank and "Wells Fargo Clearing Services." I finally figured out that "WF Clearing Services" was "WF Advisors," but it was frustrating and took time. I really miss "It's Deductible," which was a simpler format than that used when entering items into TT. Also, without Its Deductible, I no longer have an easily entered way to keep track of items for the current year. That said, I have been using TT for over 20 years and expect to continue doing so.

It's a very wonky bit of software. I've used TT online for years and switched to Desktop this year because the interview process is so poor re K1 forms. It is surprising that the user interface is not improving despite advances in AI--which I used to overcome confusion with working with TT. Hard to see TT survive Claude et al.

I had business income from Indiana and Iowa as part of a Trust Fiduciary Return. Only19 states have Fiduciary returns within the TurboTax Business software. Fortunately, Iowa is included but Indiana is not. As a result, I had to pull off the forms and instructions from the Indiana Department of Revenue website to manually complete Indiana's Trust Fiduciary return. This made my Fiduciary income tax return extremely difficult to reconcile all of the forms (and figures) across the Federal, Iowa and Indiana portions of the Trust Fiduciary return. Plus, I then had to print off all of the Fiduciary returns (Federal, Iowa and Indiana) to mail to the Indiana Department of Revenue for processing. Unless the Indiana Fiduciary return is added within TurboTax, I will most likely forego using TurboTax next year after being a customer for over 25 years!!

The tax forms are fairly easy to fill out. Security and payment is getting to take as long as doing taxes. There has got to be a better way without entering a billion numbers at least 2 times. I understand security and scammers BUT you are making it almost easier to just print and mail.

Navigating through the process was made far worse in the 2025 version. For example, in the income section, I pick a type of INT, then realize I was on autopilot and should have picked DIV. Getting back to that list of types again was really super frustrating. I also encountered a form related to entering college expenses, which had three form boxes with dollar amounts entered by me. This form was showing an error saying that the two lower boxes must add up to the amount in the top box. They did add up perfectly. I finally found a post online where TurboTax support said you have to round up/down the numbers to get this form to pass, which I did. This was posted online months prior to me encountering it - why never fixed/patched? Very frustrating!!

I would prefer rather than calling if I could text or email a question to the turbotax accountant. For me that would be easier than trying to explain an issue over the phone. Also, sending a photo of the page in question would be helpful. But that's just me. Thanks, dm

I am extremely unhappy TurboTax requires I pay a $25.00 fee to file my State Taxes. You cannot print your taxes for submission ion NY, you have to efile if software used. This ieven contradicts statements made in the software that the efile price must be included in the software price according to NY law. If there is any way I can use something else next year I will.

I have used for Turbo Tax for years and think the changes made to navigate, especially within Investments were cumbersome and not clear. For example, it was not at all clear how to manually enter Form 1099's. Also, when you got to the place to Allow the import there is no message to indicate it was successfully imported. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Last year's software was much better.
