If you are doing a basic filing of taxes then turbotax is definitely the way to go. However, last year I sold some rental property and working through turbo tax to file the sale of rental property was an absolute nightmare!!!!!!!!!! If there had not been a number of you tube videos out showing how to file using Turbo Tax I would never have finished it. I've used Turbo Tax for over 20 years and this year was aweful. Terrible software for doing this.

I find Turbo Tax easy to use to complete my taxes. I have used it for over 20 years, and I have never had any problems. I prefer the Desktop download, and I find it easy to install and use on 2 different computers. IIt is very compatible with my computer. The features are easy to understand, and it is so easy to transfer information for the past year.

Straight forward ability to input taxes for current tax year filing. Suggestion: please add a feature whereby I can use this year's tax filing as a basis upon which i can model next years' taxes. I understand tax law can change and that my true tax tax obligation my be different. The IRS withholding tool is too coarse to give me the confidence I need forward projecting next years' obligation. I purchased the software version of Turbotax and then tried to compare it with the online version. I decided to complete my taxes on the software version, but the online version keeps trying to get me to complete my filing online! In fact, after i had filed my taxes, the online version told me I needed to file! Then I got a notice from the online version that my taxes had been rejected, but nothing from the software version. Today I went back to the software version, and it allowed me to file again. What the heck is going on!"

I have used TurboTax for many years; I love how the software walks you through each step in preparing the taxes and suggesting entries to maximize the tax refund due. .I, also love the review at the end to make sure everything is complete and accurate.

1. I didn't like having to wait until mid-January to have the "Investment" features updated before I could do a preliminary estimate of taxes. No opportunity to submit estimated taxes before Jan 15. Fortunately, I didn't need to. 2. I didn't like having to remove Tax Audit defense fee from the final pre-submittal screen. It should be an opt-in -- NOT an opt-out. That's a crummy way to treat your users. I pay enough for your software packages without being tricked into paying even more.

My TurboTax experience I rate as Excellent both in product and the expert advice I received in reviewing my federal and state tax returns prior to their submission. From a product perspective, the TurboTax software interface helped guide me through step by step input of information and provided automated reviews throughout the process. At several times, the software caught mistakes and provided me the opportunity to correct them immediately. I also opted to have a review session with an Intuit Tax Expert which I was very thankful for based upon the knowledge and professional advice I received resulting in a rest assured confidence that I was getting my maximum cost savings with highly accurate tax returns. Finally, both Intuit software and tax expert help were completely compatible with my existing home systems, work schedule, and work style. I give my highest recommendation for Intuit for tax preparation, review, and smooth submission.

Not the easiest. Shameful Nickel & Diming for state e-filing. Multiple credit card transactions to get to e-file documents. Why does it cost $25 when using my internet connection to submit a document? Importing documents from Etrade did not work - tried multiple times.

I have used Turbo Tax for over 15 years. I've helped my parents, my aunts, and friends complete their returns without issue - until this year. This most confusing part was where we entered the 1099 INT. TT brought up all the places where interest was earned the previously year, but even after completing the required info, TT brought them up again and again.

Everything was great with a few challenges: 1) Make the online version more like the desktop version such as allowing you to bounce back and forth between forms and step by step mode. the online version never asked me for the estimated tax payments I made so I switched back to the desktop version.
