Navigating through the process was made far worse in the 2025 version. For example, in the income section, I pick a type of INT, then realize I was on autopilot and should have picked DIV. Getting back to that list of types again was really super frustrating. I also encountered a form related to entering college expenses, which had three form boxes with dollar amounts entered by me. This form was showing an error saying that the two lower boxes must add up to the amount in the top box. They did add up perfectly. I finally found a post online where TurboTax support said you have to round up/down the numbers to get this form to pass, which I did. This was posted online months prior to me encountering it - why never fixed/patched? Very frustrating!!

I have been using TurboTax for a very long time. I think it does a good job of transferring last year's tax information which saves time. However, given that I already pay a large sum of money for the use TurboTax, I strongly feel that electronic filing for the state taxes should already be included. I could understand if the system limited the use of the electronic filing to one use, but electronic filing would be made so much simpler if the cost of e-File for states would be a major advantage over any other method.

my 2024 Turbo Tax data did NOT transfer to 2025 Turbo Tax as an input in many areas, so no comparison was able to be done. During Electronic filing of 2025 Federal and Ca State, the 2024 AGI was INCORRECT, and both Federal and State were rejected. 2024 AGI has been manually corrected and submitted to IRS for 2nd round of filing. I have lost some confidence that my 2025 return is correct after experiencing multiple errors.

2025 Turbo Tax was not as efficient as previous versions. Unable to download our investment 1099-INT and 1099-DIV forms directly into Turbo Tax. Had to manually enter this information. Additionally, the feature to figure charitable goods contributions was not available this year as it has been in the past. Whoever programmed 2025 Turbo Tax. I kept waiting to file hoping Turbo Tax would update these issues but didn't want to wait any longer. Basically, Turbo Tax was not as good this year as it has been in the past.

I would like to know where to find the worksheet for under payment of Estimated taxes penalty for $3. I can't see where it is or why the penalty. Also saw an error on a worksheet for Student loans where you are supposed to enter $65,000 but it entered $70,000 for me instead. Luckily I didn't need that info.

TurboTax steered me to TT-Online and did almost all my taxes but did not like it as much as desktop - so had to do it all over in desktop. TT-on line hard to figure where you are and how to get back to an area i need to fix. TT keeps trying to push you back to TT-online and not always easy to tell where you are. For tax year 2025 stick with TT-desktop.

Gennerally work well, however, there a few things it could do better. Example: Wisconsin offers a $2400 senior credit, but taking it wipes out certain other credits. Turbo Tax should automatically test both scenarios and tell you which is best. Also, too much effort to sell add-on services

There is no place when originially completing the return to enter the spouses Identification Protection PIN. After the return is rejected it says to go to federal taxes other tax situations to enter the PIN. However, that screen is just greyed out and does not let you enter anything. When trying to open the form to enter the PIN it does not allow overide option. Nothing works. Support is not available. No phone numbers and AI just says to enter the pin but doesn't help at all with how to do that when the tax program doesn't allow anywhere to input it.

I do not like that Turbo tax requires an update every time I log in.I enter data as I receive the forms in the mail with multiple 1099s and often just want to enter one and I see no need for an update to enter one 1099.It is a waste of time. In prior years there was an option to skip the update.

Would not accept my Bank of America account information that I have used for years. Directed me to use the routing number from the website/app, which I did, and then would not allow me to continue with e-file. Also, regarding the CA return, incorrectly allocated mortgage interest for a rental property to my schedule E and personal itemized deductions. This require manual correction with zero assistance available from support.
