Some of the prior year's information did not carry over to this year. Also, for the Oregon state tax return, Oregon has a "kicker" that returns excess collections over the state budget to tax filers for odd years. Since the "kicker" worksheet wasn't used for the 2024 return, the form didn't load automatically for 2025. If I hadn't known to search for the "kicker", I could easily have missed being refunded 9.836% of my 2024 Oregon tax. This alternating year kicker arrangement should generate a prompt from TurboTax to remind taxpayers of its existence.

I'm a long time user of TurboTax online. I tried TurboTax Premier desktop version for the first time. The support for California domestic partners is dismal. It's all well documented online and I have little to add. If you live in a community property state like California and are in an RDP, look elsewhere for help with filing your returns. TurboTax is a disaster in this respect. The software has some useability issues. For example, for the most part it's impossible to copy and paste the tet from the UI elsewhere. I wanted to lookup more information on certain things and I had to retype them into the Google prompt. I have also run into issues with text rendering. There were pages where text was rendered on top of other text making it illegible. It's not possible to open two instances of the app to copy and paste field values from one to another. You have to open a return, copy, open another return and paste. But I do like the fact that you can have an unlimited quantity of federal returns.

2025 TurboTax Premier program not nearly as user fredly as previously. Montana State income tax could only enter 1 Medical Savings Account and we legitimately had 2. Worked with Turbotax help and hy indicted the 2025 program did not support 2 MSA accounts. Turbotax last year did so why not 2025. Not happy.

Getting prior years un_allowed expenses on a rental transferred from a federal tax file to California tax file didn't work at all in the past (before late 2024) and was not intuitively obvious in 2025. I had to rile an amended filing for for California using the updated 2024 software using the non intuitive process used in the 2025 turbotax SW. Deprecation on a rental property also looks fishy, thinking additional amended filings to come once TT SW sorts out the issues...

I had trouble with a 1099-Q to me but was for my granddaughter. It was a small amount but I ended up paying a tax on it because the software didn't walk me though it well enough. I also am concerned that there will be a problem with the 1099-R as I have 3 IRAs but take the total RMD required from 2 of them. I entered all information as the software requested but I'm concerned as there didn't seem to be anywhere to enter the RMD for the 3rd IRA that I didn't take anything from because I took more from the other 2 and didn't need to take any from the 3rd.

TurboTax has been my go-to for 30 years. It continues to be an exceptional value and is now a normal part of my tax season. As I age I especially value following the prompts inherent in the expert system. It gives me confidence that I haven't missed anything. I took a star away this year because of the over emphasis on "guiding" one to download 1099s. It is a level of complexity that don't need, it confused me, and added an extra hour time for me to figure out how to work around the process to manually enter my data. In addition, the formating is not helpful. The screens don't show all the account information. Tell your developers to back off. Get me back to the relatively simple list of previous year 1099s. I could review the account information at a glance and make a quick update to the numbers. Plus, the prompt to log into the investment firm accounts is absolutely a waste of time as I have the hard copy 1099s before I start. There wasn't much screen help and it took me a lot of trial and error to figure out out to work out of the path you pushed me down. Stop pushing me into this unnecessary complexity. '

Contrary to the experience of prior years, I encountered some annoying glitches, in particular with importing brokerage files. Also had to deal with the weird glitch concerning income from Canada...luckily, I found the solution to that by searching online for the experience of other TT users One feature that was very helpful: TurboTax lined up the prior year's 1099s for comparison with 2025 entries, and pre-filled the Payer's information blanks.,,a welcome time-saver

Very good, however, the first time I used the 2025 Premier turbo tax version, it didn't lead me to the Form only part right away. I had a hard time preparing other taxes for my family and friends. It appeared the 2025 turbo tax was only limited to my taxes. I didn't purchased t the software to do only my taxes, it was for me, my family and friends.

Not very clear when Form 1095-A is entered, but Form 8962 doesn't appear and there was payment from taxpaper for few months and HRA account was used to pay for other months. Even the community postings are not clear enough. Processing of tax returns was not as smooth as other years, took a long time for the research with no clear direction as to what to do.

TurboTax 25 charges $25 ro file my state return. When I tried to enter my credit card information, it would NOT let me enter any month beyond 10 (October) for the expiration date. Very, very frustrating. I will definitely consider using a different tax payment app next year.
