Turbo Tax 2025 does not work very well. It miss pulling a 1099 from my Fidelity Account and i had to manually add it to Turbo Tax. Also, when I looked at my dividends, it triplicated on the first download from Fidelity. Second download it doubled the dividends. I had to manually delete the duplicates. The system itself, each time I went to open it up wanted to update the system, and it never worked. I had to use AI to do a work around. When I was updating the HSA section, the data base locked up several times and had to Control Alt Delete and manually shut down TT and then reopen. Wow I think next year, I will use another software tax system.

Turbo tTx would not e-file my return claiming that my state withholding ($1,375.00) on a 1099-R is higher than the gross amount of $31,500.00. However, the gross amount is higher than the state withholding. I spent hours finding a work-around. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!

I have been a Turbo tax users for many years. This year I was very disappointed in the product. Error loading W-2, many issues with internet connection. Problems downloading investments from brokerage accounts. Install challenges. Too many for what has been a good product in the past.

TurboTax Premier should offer more detailed advice on topics such as how to determine RMDs, whether RMDs are even required for defined-benefit pensions, how to deal with the foreign dividend tax, etc. Also, it would help a lot to include an introductory set of questions about whether the hassle of itemizing deductions is worth it. This would have saved me a couple of hours of data entry this year and last. And I live in a state with no income tax, so all of that is a waste of time.

I appreciate how the program can either walk you through each possible tax area, or lets you jump to where you want to go in the tax filing process. I also really like the helpful information that is seen by clicking hyperlinked help areas on the screen.

Reporting pension income was confusing, i.e., the Distribution categories were regrouped and one could not select the source as we could for the 2024 tax year. The State Sales Tax did not prompt us to provide details when we first used Turbo Tax, and instead we caught the omission when comparing 2024 versus 2025 tax year and updated the form ourselves. Overall this seemed like a Beta version unlike previous years in which the TurboTax was better and more intuitive to use.

IT GETS WORSE EVERY YEAR... ONLY REASON I USE IT IS I THINK IT WILL IMPROVE, AND YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU'VE SPENT YOUR MONEY AND ARE INTO THE 2ND PAGE.WWWRRROOONNNG AGAIN . THIS YEAR'S WAS THE WORST YET. THANK GOODNESS FOR CHAT WHO EXPLAINED WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!! IT USED TO BE SO EASY YEARS AGO. WHAT HAPPENED? I AM GOING TO JUST GVE IT TO A TAX MAN OR WOMAN EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT MIND DOING IT MYSELF IF I HAVE THE OLD PROGRAM FROM 8 YEARS AGO, SIMPLE AND ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS EDIT THE LAST YEARS RETURN ENTRIES WHICH WERE LISTED AND POPULATED AND ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS!!! IT JUST GETS WORSE AND MORE CONFUSING EVERY YEAR.

It took forever to get updated to a useable version this year. The ability to download information from financial institutions also came out late. The constant nagging to use the on-line version was irritating. I tried the on-line version and it didn't work at all. There are problems with the RMDs and my brokerage firm since they gave me two 1099R forms: one for my QCD and one for the withdrawal. I had to guess how to handle it. Also basic information like my name and address did not transfer.

Premier was a disappointment as even though my Schwab account auto download provided all tax-free bond information, I still had to manually enter all of my bond amounts separately and bond states separately by hand (I have many). Also, the software asked me nothing about my futures and options transactions. I then had to manually go in and find the forms and enter there. It then had an error in the interest I earned on my bonds with OID and I had to enter those separately by hand. My Schwab forms were all correct by the way, it's in your software.

This year the program was very slow to load up. The federal and state updates were also very slow. The estimates of time remaining were way off. The importing from brokerage took much longer than prior. Regarding the actual calculations, it took a bit research outside of turbo tax to understand some of the significant changes in tax law deductions from prior years. Overall, it was a long slow slog to get through the program.
