THis is the absolute worst version of Turbo Tax that I've ever used, and I will likely never use it again. It was extremely buggy and unintuitive, filing complicated multi-state taxes was NOT easy (something I pay the cost of this software for) and the online help is essentially useless. It does do the math well, assuming that you have all the data, but the financial import section was confusing, as you get imports that you have to address that may be new imports, or carryover data from a previous version. It's not clear which ones they are as there are no dates on the imported data. My advice for 2025 is to shop around and see what other software is out there.

While I was working on my tax return on the same computer, TurboTax asked me to RE-activate my license code repeatedly. It is very frustrating. I am using TurboTax DeskTop. I should not have to sign into Intuit all the time, and I should not have to enter my TurboTax Desktop license code over and over again on the same computer. Please fix this license code problem next year!

This is the 35th year that I've used Turbo Tax to calculate my income taxes. I use Turbo Tax because it is accurate, compatible, and the interfacing with financial institutions makes it very easy to complete this task. While I don't have a complicated tax situation right now, the features of Turbo Tax makes it easy to cruise through the various income and deduction topics allowing me an opportunity to better understand various tax issues and situations. I have survived two audits dealing with charitable giving without complications. The support that I received from Turbo Tax was helpful.

Doing my taxes this year was painful. At the end, during the Smart Check for the Capital Asset Sales Worksheet, I had to manually check "NO + Continue" to answer "Is this a Digital Asset Y/N?" over 600 times to get thru all the sales transactions! There was no place to do this en masse upfront during the import or review of the documents. This REALLY, REALLY sucked and I hope you fix it for next year.

It was alright until the audit check. I downloaded the investment information directly from my investment firms. During the audit check, before filing, I had to enter made-up information into fields that otherwise had no auto-filled information. Otherwise, I could not get out of the audit loop. Very annoying and inaccurate.

The turbotax software can feel predatory to use. When moving through filing, fees add up and there is little explanation or transparency as to where costs come from or why they are added. This problem could be solved by adding an intial pricing feature "Hey here is our updated prices and why they are there!" , or even an intial tax entry with something like "Lets get you started on our Pricing Feature- Dont worry, information here will carry over to return once you select your level" Not that I expect somthing like this to actually happen, but it would increase my trust the program and build confidence about avoiding hidden fees. Also, this AI generated review topic box is annoying, every time a new 'suggested review topic' is selected it deletes the text I am typing. If I am typing quickly sometimes it deletes a whole line. I cant select them either? They just appear and dissappear randomly as I type...

When entering (credit card) payment information as part of e-file process the screen does not let me scroll down the expiration month beyond value 08 (August). I could not resize the open window and resetting windows system display parameters did not make a difference. The workaround solution was to use a different credit card with a month value less than 08. So, this problem still exists.

VERY upset that when I downloaded the product as usual like I've done for 20 years, a big window appeared suggesting that I should switch to on-line. I didn't know what on-line meant but it said I could switch back if I wanted. I pressed the button. I hated it. I went to switch back and had to use the virtual assistant to find out that I'd have to download the product again and find my code an start over. In addition, everything I had entered "on-line" was gone.

IT GETS WORSE EVERY YEAR... ONLY REASON I USE IT IS I THINK IT WILL IMPROVE, AND YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU'VE SPENT YOUR MONEY AND ARE INTO THE 2ND PAGE.WWWRRROOONNNG AGAIN . THIS YEAR'S WAS THE WORST YET. THANK GOODNESS FOR CHAT WHO EXPLAINED WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!! IT USED TO BE SO EASY YEARS AGO. WHAT HAPPENED? I AM GOING TO JUST GVE IT TO A TAX MAN OR WOMAN EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT MIND DOING IT MYSELF IF I HAVE THE OLD PROGRAM FROM 8 YEARS AGO, SIMPLE AND ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS EDIT THE LAST YEARS RETURN ENTRIES WHICH WERE LISTED AND POPULATED AND ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS!!! IT JUST GETS WORSE AND MORE CONFUSING EVERY YEAR.

Interview process was not as good as 2024. Summary only show limited info not full form. The auto download added account that was empty even though confirmed 2024 accounts. Download unclear what was downloaded in interest / div section. Adding QCD donations from RMD not clear. To review account as requested had to select manual download.
