Turbotax is hard to correct errors and make change

the accuracy is fine. it was hard to open forms to correct errors. My IRA 1099R showed I donated the entire RMD amount to charity. Turbotax did not download that information and I had to manually add it. It was also hard to find the place to enter my year end value of my IRA. It did not automatically come up as I entered my data. I could save the file as a pdf but could not figure out how to print it for my records.

Premium turns into Deluxe

I have been using it for many years, I am confident it does its job. You had a happy customer, but don't increase the license fee. I bought Premier copy of Turbotax this year, but it turns out to Deluxe version on my Mac. Support Center cannot find out why..

Turbotax has major issues

I purchased the software version of Turbotax and then tried to compare it with the online version. I decided to complete my taxes on the software version, but the online version keeps trying to get me to complete my filing online! In fact, after i had filed my taxes, the online version told me I needed to file! Then I got a notice from the online version that my taxes had been rejected, but nothing from the software version. Today I went back to the software version, and it allowed me to file again. What the heck is going on!"

The result was good, but some suggestions

My 1099-NEC applied to my Farm Rental (form 4835), but the interview did not give Farm Rental as a choice for it. I wound up not including the 1099-NEC form in TurboTax and instead entered the amount in the 4835 as other income. You continue to not give any attention to the foreign tax credit interview. This year in the Interest and Dividend interview sections you improved the presentation of 1099 DIV and INT payers, by giving each payer's total ordinary dividends or interest income along with their name. However, payer names were not disambiguated by their dividend amounts in the foreign tax credit interview. I could not figure out how to return to the Federal interview summary highlighting the differences between this and last year. I saw it during the interview, but none of the topics I checked in the Topic List showed it. Just now it occurred to me to look at the Tax History form, which was very nice. Perhaps TurboTax could make the user more aware of that form or present it as a detailed text option in Tools > Tax History. Having summaries of state history as well would be nice.

One suggestion, otherwise user friendly

Almost gave it 5 stars, but I found when entering Foreign Tax paid to various countries, it wasn't user friendly. I entered every country (had several) and when I went to enter the amount for each country, the full country list would disappear. I think if you placed instructions to enter each country and amount one at a time, it would have made it easier for me to figure out what was going on when they kept disappearing. Just a thought. :)

Like the product

I have been using this product for years. I like the fact that it guides you through the current year reminding you of previous data. Not sure I like the current interface. I hate the fact that Its Deductible is gone. Need to let me e-file 1 state tax as well.

Great for federal and state but not City

Great for federal and state but oh my. If there is a city involved and you commute in and out of the city Turbo Tax prevents efiling of federal and state. This sucks as Turbo Tax won't take the correct numbers as it thinks something different than my reality.

Turbo tax is slipping

I was very very disappointed in turbo tax this year. The federal government came up with a different amount than Turbo tax on my federal form. On my Oregon form , turbo tax did not have a critical worksheet for calculating tax on farm property sold so I had to do my Oregon tax by hand even though I paid for state version

Turbo Tax - I hate this product

The software crashed at the "Review" stage. I was unable to retrieve any work and thus, I was able to efficiently replace several hours of BS work with frustration and rage. Not the trade off I was hoping for after paying good money for a product. I bought the desk top version (as opposed to cloud) and Turbo Tax makes it such a PITA to install, it's obvious they're trying to herd their clients to their web-based product. Product support is also lacking. Dealing with this software reminds me of walking a Great Dane after a heavy meal, if I'm not being too subtle.

Turbo Tax is not as good as it used to be.

It used to be very easy to use Turbo Tax. Questions for entering data were straight forward and if topics or items were confusing or needing additional explanation there were clear explanations in pop up boxes. This year however it is much more confusing (and our tax situation did not change so that is not the reason). Pop up boxes are still present, but many link you to other resources or are circular in explanation. The connection between the step by step and forms is also no longer accurate. In previous years I could click between step by step and forms and see exactly what I was doing on a form but this year it would bring you back to some other area or section when using that option. Also when doing calculations for estimated taxes you should be able to change all numbers. It gave us the senior exemptions, and we could not remove it. Therefore our "estimated" taxable income was way off. I had to put in other amounts just to get the taxable income up were I truly estimated it would be. If you know what you are doing and what to anticipate in terms of taxes then turbo tax is fine, but Turbo Tax has increase the complexity to increase the need for paying for extra help through the product.
