Good but some issues

Previous years have been fairly easy without issues. This year there were issues with payer ID information. Allowed more than 7 digits in the entry screen but in the recap only allowed 7 and caused a error loop with no explanation. Had to call and get assistance. Passed the review process but then was rejected by Federal. Turns out there was an entry error that the review did not catch until it was rejected, Then the program highlighted it. This should have been caught in the review process. I did not expect these issues in a "premier" product.

Good product.

Tax returns for my wife and I are relatively simple - just pensions, social security, stocks, dividends, and interest. TurboTax was very good about guiding me through the various topics and downloading the pertinent information from my broker. I did have a question about the home energy tax credit because I had purchased energy efficient sliding glass doors, and TurboTax's explanation about qualifying for the credit were sufficient for me to determine that I did not qualify for the credit. Unfortunately, I did not ask the vendor or manufacturer whether the doors were Energy Star-rated, so that meant that I did not qualify for the credit.

Turbo Tax - No longer my Tax Product

Filling out your forms was a relatively good experience. Electronically filing the forms was a very bad experience for me. The completed forms were not accepted with the explanation that the forms were not updated. I tried for hours to update the forms but I couldn't. I even filled out the forms online thinking that at least would be updated. I trust that the completed 1040 is accurate. I will probably use Block next year.

What the heck is "on-line?"

VERY upset that when I downloaded the product as usual like I've done for 20 years, a big window appeared suggesting that I should switch to on-line. I didn't know what on-line meant but it said I could switch back if I wanted. I pressed the button. I hated it. I went to switch back and had to use the virtual assistant to find out that I'd have to download the product again and find my code an start over. In addition, everything I had entered "on-line" was gone.

Premium Tax credit info difficult to find

I was disappointed that TurboTax did not ask me about Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit as part of he review process, and would have finished and filed my return without this necessary component being part of my return. If I hadn't questioned why there was no mention of it during this process, my return would have been returned and inaccurate. Health care is such a big part of all senior's returns, and this omission is inexcusable, especially after paying additional money for the "premium" version of TurboTax. TurboTax= fail

Error Handling and Carry Over

I have been using Turbo Tax for over a decade. I never like Turbo Tax but there is not much of choice when it comes to DIY tax software. Here are the items Turbo Tax should fix but just never did. 1. When running final check, I keep getting errors and not sure how to fix. The most recent example is the error, "QBI Passive loss c/f should not have a value when no previously disallowed losses are present for regular tax purposes". There was no help to fix. Why does this error come up. Turbo Tax should know from prior year return and auto fix this. Very frustrating. 2. I expect Turbo Tax to carry over automatically ALL of cary-over from last year return. This does not consistently happen. Example: On the CA state return, why does TurboTax still ask the prior year asset depreciation (difference from Fed 30% to 50% accelerated depreciation) taken when this information is available from prior year

Hidden fields blocked submission. NAVGTION SUCKS

Navigation not intuitive. TT Claims I am not filing a calendar year, but I have no idea why and help was useless on this matter. TT also prevented from submitting my FDE state return. TT claimed I was missing a suffix on m y name, but I have no suffix, Per ChatGPT TT has hidden fields that can set with the user's knowledge. The only fix was 1) to add a prefix on my federal form, 2) Save this version and exit TT, 3) Restart TT and 4) Delete the prefix. This get-a-round worked after spending 4 hours fussing with TT. I am reducing my rating by 1 star for this inconvenience. Hidden fields should never be used with public software.

lost information

TurboTax user for years. However, this version was less user friendly. But primary reason for reduced rating is glitch in system caused loss of information already input (approx half of information). Required a couple of hours of delay and reinput... plus big concern over confidential information "lost who knows where". you must do better tha this.

Turbo Tax is a godsend!

Turbo Tax Premier helps me figure out how to report investments accurately. The rest of my tax information is fairly easy but the investments always stumped me. I feel that I am receiving the highest refund I am entitled to (or paying the lowest tax necessary).
