Worse than last year

I found this version worse than last yers. Why did you have to let me get all the way through the filing process before telling me I had to upgrade at the last step. I signed up for the $60 live advice but the advisors were never able to see my uploaded return nor view all of my screens, even after I opened up ll the permissions. It wa unclear what value of any that $60 got me.

Bugs in Mac version

I called TT customer service to help me with not being able to enter my1099-B data manually. After a half hour on the phone, he could not help me until he finally said close and restart TT ... and this resolved the issue. But I had to restart TT for every 1099-B I wanted to add (for my Mac version)! And I've run into software issues with the Mac version before (for previous years). I've never had any issues with the Windows version. I don't think Intuit spends as much effort on the Mac version to make it run correctly as they do for their Windows version to make it bug free.

Not user friendly at all

Turbo tax is extremely not - user friendly

There is no place when originially completing the return to enter the spouses Identification Protection PIN. After the return is rejected it says to go to federal taxes other tax situations to enter the PIN. However, that screen is just greyed out and does not let you enter anything. When trying to open the form to enter the PIN it does not allow overide option. Nothing works. Support is not available. No phone numbers and AI just says to enter the pin but doesn't help at all with how to do that when the tax program doesn't allow anywhere to input it.

TurboTax

My only issue I had - my 1099-R has the amounts in the "1. Gross distribution", "2a. Taxable Amount" and "9b Total Employee Contributions". I should not have to go through the "Simplified Method" screens. I know how much per month is non-taxable. Turbotax should take the info input. Only IF the 2a amount is NOT filled it should it make you go through all those screens. This was my first year with 1099-R. Bottom line: IF form 1099-R has ALL the info needed please do NOT make people go through the screens. It caused some issues and took too much time.

Turbox Tax installation process is horrible.

I had installation issue this year and last year. The problem is the same that when I tried to do the verification and log into my existing Intuit account via your TurboTax App, it kept saying "Access is denied" without even present me a web interface requesting password. By the way, I have no problem to log into my Intuit account via web browser (using Edge or Chrome" So the issue is definitely not about my authentications but rather something about the handshake between my request for log in to your TurboTax Server. Last year's problem I fixed on my own. This year's problem I opened 3 support tickets with your Support Center. None of the 3 support Rep really understood the root of the issue. The last one (which is supposed to be handled by an Escalation Engineer is among the worse. I already explained to her that we have tried all the following in the first two troubleshooting sessions such as: - disable the VPN and all anti-virus - updated MS last patches - verified the license code. But I told her that the "Access is denied" issue is happening even before the need of presenting the license code. But she kept saying my license code was not the right code and started questing me all the questions about where and when I purchased the software. I gave up tried to convince up and let her repeated all the stuff that we already did it multiple times in the first 2 troubleshoot sessions and sure enough none of that help. She then promised me that she will escalate the case further up and let me know the status. But I have not heard from her at all. Not even with an email saying what is the support case number. I think she just did not file anything to prevent your company know how bad she did. I finally go around the problem by using my wife email address to create a new Intuit account in order to bypassed the "Access is denied" problem. I am not sure how I would fix the same problem if it comes up again next year since I already used my email and my wife email to create two Intuit accounts.

TurboTax is very helpful!

I have used the Turbo Tax software for many years. It helps me to complete an accurate return. I like how the software walks me through the process, going through each topic. Also references items that are uncommon but possible. I also like how I can save a pdf version for future reference, saves me on storing tax returns for the seven years.

Buggy, Incorrect MA, INTEREST Calc.

Not the easiest. Shameful Nickel & Diming for state e-filing. Multiple credit card transactions to get to e-file documents. Why does it cost $25 when using my internet connection to submit a document? Importing documents from Etrade did not work - tried multiple times.

Easy to follow

Did not use the expert to answer questions feature. It is another expense for people who cannot afford to keep paying for additional things that should already be included in the program for free. That is why most people would prefer to have someone else do it for them.

Turbo Tax Review

Not as user friendly as before. Went to TurboTaxhelp.com for installation help I thought it was Turbo Tax but it was a site called Just Answer Had to pay $5.00 and they signed me up for a monthly subscription. I have used Turbo Tax since 2003 Next year I will consider other software

Many Mistakes

Many of the different areas were not available till late January. I found several mistakes that were corrected but not until March, 2026. This is not acceptable at all. Trying to contact TurboTax was a major joke. TurboTax was a lot better in the past, not so much now. Perhaps this was all due to the various tax law changes?
