I only had 3 issues with my experience using TurboTax Premier. 1. The font size is WAY TOO SMALL! There should be an option for a larger font. I used my computer's magnifier but then the whole page is not visible until the magnifier is turned off. 2. It was confusing after importing my financial forms from my broker. A page appeared to allow the final security check and a pointed finger came up to select allow, but nothing happens and there was no clear way to get off of that page. I could only go back to the page prior to importing to start over. It turns out the import was successful but I could not tell that. 3. We received an additional deduction with Form A-1 but I could not tell what that was for until I was finished with the return and could review all the forms. Turns out it was for being old but was never addressed during the process and caused me concern and time trying to find it. Otherwise I find the software easy to use except for the small font.

Technical Support was fantastic. Very personable, competent, patient!! Please continue to offer a physical disk version of TurboTax each year to enable loading and viewing/using the software long after Intuit has stopped supporting older versions. It seems that Intuit is making it more difficult each year to obtain a physical disk copy of the Turbo Tax software.

The handling of foreign tax credits is horrible. The instructions seem to encourage skipping the credit altogether. Following the instructions requires multiple passes through the calculations to build a file that can be e-filed. This is not professional and does not build confidence in the final answer. Another issue is it is nearly to impossible to match the 1099 downloaded to Turbo Tax with the pdf download so that I know how to answer the question. In addition, question were asked to fill in numbers that Turbo Tax should know from the downloaded 1099.

The credit card payment glitch was the last straw when finalizing the charge to efile a charge was levied via credit card as I did not have the option of a refund deduction. The payment glitch with my Premier version did not allow for a credit card month greater than 08 (August) and I had the month of November (11)--this caused endless suffering as my Mac does not have a mouse nor would the trackpad allow for me to scroll to month 11. Absolutely ridiculous. I'd like a refund of the cost of this worthless software.

The TurboTax experience was about as annoying as usual. This year required dealing with upgrading to Windows 11, it's own nightmare. Then, as usual the software required constant updates, and in fact required one right as I was filing. Necessitating an additional review of the tax return. And now this survey can't seem to keep up with my typing, so I have to deliberately slow down so that it doesn't reverse or skip keys.

The Mac desktop version sucks - it was not able to import financial data from Merrill Lynch. I had to use the online version for that and then export the return to my Mac for continuing the work on the tax return. According to web searches this is not new so Intuit just ignores addressing a known issue. I wasted a good day on this. Very disappointing.

TurboTax user for years. However, this version was less user friendly. But primary reason for reduced rating is glitch in system caused loss of information already input (approx half of information). Required a couple of hours of delay and reinput... plus big concern over confidential information "lost who knows where". you must do better tha this.

Turbo Tax is an easy to use program for most tax situations. I used it 4 times this year for our filing and for family members. I've used it for over 30 years, so I am a fan. Once you get into more complex tax situations it starts to fall short. I have two examples: Annualizing income to reduce estimated tax penalties and foreign tax credits. Most people will not encounter these situations. It is very complicated to calculate all the dividends, short, and long term capital gains etc to enter the required data for 3 different time periods. Since I downloaded my broker transactions the information is actually available to the program, at least for the most complex cases which are the stock sales. It would be great if Turbo Tax did the hard work and performed this calculation. The second is in claiming the credit for foreign taxes (specifically the foreign taxes paid on dividends from non US company investments). An "explanation" is required for one field but it is totally unclear how the number is calculated so writing an explanation is impossible. I had to ask Google, and their AI tool was helpful.

Software seemed to be a little "kludgy" this year; e.g. adding characters/letters onto various forms, giving field-level error messages on various forms that were VERY difficult to resolve, etc. Software definitely didn't flow as smoothly as previous versions.

I had difficulty loading it onto my computer because the software was initially loaded onto my sister's computer. The solution was simple although I did not know it at the time. A customer service representative named Chris saved the day. It just required high-lighting the box with the code and clicking on it. So simple, but there were no instructions for downloading it when initially downloaded on another computer. I would suggest incorporating directions to instruct someone how to do this. It drove me crazy trying to figure it out myself and wasted ALOT of time.
