Generally good, but this year I got into a loop at the final steps where it said there were vague "errors", prompted me to click to fix the errors, then said there were still "errors" with no details saying WHAT the issue was. This cycle repeated multiple times, til I got sick of it and just clicked continue. It was an unnerving experience and gave me LESS CONFIDENCE in the software.

This is the first time I have used TurboTax. It was a chore, BUT I had a cadre of amazing people helping me throughout my ordeal. I am sold on the ease of use with the caveat "after the first time". The format is simple, straightforward, and if you're well prepared, easy to navigate. I am fully committed to the 2026 program. The internal features are well articulated, and the compatibility with IRS forms is very accurate. I'm glad to have had the experience. It will be repeated.

This is my third year using desktop TurboTax Premier, and I have noticed that the process of completing my return is taking longer and becoming more tedious. While it’s true that the IRS introduces more and longer forms each year, TurboTax is not developing enough time saving procedures to offset the increased time consumption from the new complexities. This is important to me because the primary reason I began using TurboTax was to reduce the burden of importing detailed information on capital gains, qualified dividends, and foreign taxes. Here are some examples of what would be more helpful to me: The system does not automatically gather all the information from prior TurboTax returns that it can. I prefer that every question on every page in EasyStep displays the value, information, or response I provided in the prior tax year. Search Topics tab is not useful to me. It requires users to use the exact IRA or TurboTax terminology to find a topic, for example “Nondeductible IRA” gets a hit, but “IRA nondeductible” or “nontaxable IRA portion” don’t. Queries beginning, “form for xyz“ also don’t yield results. I wanted to use this tab to jump to specific entries that needed checking or change in EasyStep or to directly access a specific document in the Forms section. I believe adding a bit of AI to the search routine would greatly assist users in navigating to specific parts of the application. When I return to a topic I previously completed it’s for one of two reasons. Sometimes I misunderstood a category and I need to start over, but more often, I need to change the data I entered in a specific field, such as including or omitting some components of cost in a total cost. In the EasyStep topics that have a series of prerequisite questions about the data that will be input later, users are forced to tab through or re-answer those questions before correcting the data. Answering those prerequisite questions are some of the most monotonous chores in all of tax preparation, and anyway that minimizes this repetition would be a big improvement. When saving tax documents, I want to save four different documents separately. 1) the exact set of pages submitted to the IRS 2) the exact set of pages submitted to the state tax authority 3) every page in 1) plus any other worksheets, schedules, forms, addendums, summaries, or reports used to calculate the Federal tax return 4) every page in 2) plus any other worksheets, schedules, forms, addendums, summaries, or reports used to calculate the state tax return

An underwhelming product for the price. Tax software that does not support some required tax forms? That's your whole job! TurboTax doesn't support Form 7217 at this time. It also meant that I had to print the form from the IRS website and fill it out manually, Because of that I also couldn't e-file and had to print both federal and state forms and pay for mailing them. Too many questions in some sections. Unclear questions with little or no help in others. Navigation was not great. No progress status meter to know how far along you are. Audit defense software sign-up form was too big for my screen. You could not see the submit button and thus it was nearly impossible to submit it.

This yrs turbo tax NOT as user friendly. For some reason I had to go into investments 1099-xxx and manually select and/or enter data. AL state tax same way. In the past yrs - (decades) TurboTax would guide me thru almost painlessly, this year NO SO.

TT seems as good as ever. I recognize the need to increase your market by offering direct support, although I find it unnecessary. I am disappointed that having used the Deluxe version for many years that you could not handle my return this year without charging me another $35 for the Premium version.

Software doesn't change much year to year. I tried to do my taxes manually and a year I finally had to deal with a limited partnership, I gave up after 4 weeks of frustration and had to return to Turbo Tax. I had tried H&R block one year way back and found it deficient, so I haven't tried anything else. I found bugs this time again... percentages did not carry over to a worksheet from K-1 inputs, difficulty with K-1 inputs, notice that a certain form would not be generated from K-1, amounts not carried over from K-1, '.01' IRA distribution amount issue, and finding answers or help to questions is always a pain. Interface hasn't changed that much over the years and the walkthroughs are always helpful. I wish there was like IRA cost basis and other tax tracking summarreporting available in the package. efile submission is very quick and straight forward now, though it does not make sense to have to type in name/address information over and over. i did not like the organization of online help this year and thank goodness for Google's AI's ability to generate answers to questions.

Too many steps to "upsell" within the program. Too many places the program "dumbs" down, rather than simply having spaces to transfer from forms (specifically in the interest and dividend sections). Bring back It's Deductible. That was actually a very useful part of the program. Best feature is the carryover from previous returns (why I come back) for things like losses. Kind of ironic that this year, I needed to upgrade because i had a 1099-B, which I've had in previous years, so the Premium. Even though, for 20+ year, deluxe was sufficient.

We have used Turbotax for decades. The program isn't quite as easy to use as it used to be, but we continue to like and use the desktop product. Certainly no comparison to trying to do this manually, as we have a lot of deductions and other credits. I feel confident knowing I don't have to check my own math with the calculations being done for us.

Awful. - constantly trying to upsell - asks for tons of hard to find information only to report it couldn't be used. And it knew that before asking. Complete waste of time. - Making us repeat entering information it already has. Such as asking if we'd use the same direct deposit account, then asking us for account and routing anyway! Thats crazy. Not useful. - Misleading at times. Asking for information during review that it already has, in obscure ways while trying to upsell. - No linux version. Requiring Windows 11. - Online version didn't support all forms we needed. 5329 for missed RMD.
