Almost Awesome

I have used Turbotax for at least 8 years. It almost makes taxes easy. This year the glitch was Turbotax trying to make me fill in my Schedule from my Notary business from 2 years ago while it was rechecking my taxes for this year. Since I had no info to use, I had to make up answers so the program would let me go forward.

Difficult to Use

Difficult to Use

I find TurboTax Premier very difficult to use. I choose to input forms manually vs importing information. I like to have control over my inputs. It is very difficult to navigate where to input forms and the step by step is no help. Additionally, my 1099's from my brokerage accounts have DIV, INT and B all on the same document. You have to input them in 3 different places in TurboTax, not 1 form with all 3 different inputs.

Bring back the disc

I've been using Turbo Tax since 2010. I always bought the disc. I found out while shopping that the disc is no longer offered. Shame. After many fits with the online, I found a button that allowed me to do my tax's on my desktop, I would give a one star, but raised it to two for that button. The format is different in this than previous year. I was about to toss this and get H & R Block. I probably will next year if disc isn't offered.

Turbotax is disappointing

Very little on-screen help is provided to understand the questions being asked. Especially true if you have multiple sources of income from one fiduciary, or if you have more than one fiduciary reporting the same type of income. We were just baffled by some screens. While Turbotax may be the best product out there for an individual user, it certainly does not inspire confidence in the output.

Needs Modification

Basically good, but a few items need fixing. When exploring on my own, after finishing each section, top of page is initiated. This is confusing because one looses focus All medical amount lines will not accept an entry. Must use form itself. Foreign Tax can use Schedule A or Form 1116. A good way to choose is needed without going to the form itself.to enter. Under Deductions and Refund Amount from previous year applied to present year, should have been entered automatically when transfer was made from previous year at the start.

2025 Forms for Bill46hh

Again, This year was a little confusing downloading and restarting but I got it done ok. Later the programed asked for another 2nd passcode-done. Again, I will be doing my son's form soon and he moved to CT during the year. i will need to add a 2nd state and hope to use the $10.00 credit, etc. I'll need to know -do I get prompted? I used Turbo Tax for years and I like that prior years info in carried to the next year. Bill46

TURBO TAX PREMIER DESKTOP

Really seamless process from importing statements and helpful reminders to insure accuracy-Turbotax premier desktop is a great plan. My one caveat is the expense for additional states and e-filing expenses. I do my out of state children's taxes as well. I had to use a clumsy program called OLT so we could do theirs for free. If I had done additional states (2) it would be $60 each state and $25 each e-file for each state and $25 for each federal e file with my 2025 TT premier desktop. That's an additional $220 fee which I find way too much. The OLT tax program offered all that for free due to their income limits-but that program was NOT fun nor easy. To get the TT tax to work I would have to create an additional account with a different email and it was just too much effort.

Turbo Tax may be falling behind?

I've been using Turbo Tax forever. It's getting more difficult to use, and they made me upgrade this year to do something that I've been doing for years. I also had to buy a new computer because they wouldn't allow me to install on my existing computer.

Turbox Tax installation process is horrible.

I had installation issue this year and last year. The problem is the same that when I tried to do the verification and log into my existing Intuit account via your TurboTax App, it kept saying "Access is denied" without even present me a web interface requesting password. By the way, I have no problem to log into my Intuit account via web browser (using Edge or Chrome" So the issue is definitely not about my authentications but rather something about the handshake between my request for log in to your TurboTax Server. Last year's problem I fixed on my own. This year's problem I opened 3 support tickets with your Support Center. None of the 3 support Rep really understood the root of the issue. The last one (which is supposed to be handled by an Escalation Engineer is among the worse. I already explained to her that we have tried all the following in the first two troubleshooting sessions such as: - disable the VPN and all anti-virus - updated MS last patches - verified the license code. But I told her that the "Access is denied" issue is happening even before the need of presenting the license code. But she kept saying my license code was not the right code and started questing me all the questions about where and when I purchased the software. I gave up tried to convince up and let her repeated all the stuff that we already did it multiple times in the first 2 troubleshoot sessions and sure enough none of that help. She then promised me that she will escalate the case further up and let me know the status. But I have not heard from her at all. Not even with an email saying what is the support case number. I think she just did not file anything to prevent your company know how bad she did. I finally go around the problem by using my wife email address to create a new Intuit account in order to bypassed the "Access is denied" problem. I am not sure how I would fix the same problem if it comes up again next year since I already used my email and my wife email to create two Intuit accounts.

Needs attention

In general my experiences with turbo tax has been excellent. I although would like to note a couple of areas which need to be looked at. 1. I normally import my financial information into my taxes. I although found that when I reviewed some of the items in my form, I was directed to re-import. This was confusing as I had already imported my data assumed that the prior import was accurate. It brings a level of mistrust in the data. 2. I am a Washington State resident. I made money in Idaho. I know that I was not going to have to pay taxes in Washington. I therefore added Idaho to my tax form. Upon the filing of my taxes, I was charged to file my taxes for Idaho. Since I was not required to file a return for Washington State, I should not have been charged for filing my Idaho taxes. This needs attention.
