Since we have only had this washer since the end of January 2023, an evaluation of long-term reliability is not possible, but we are quite satisfied with the unit thus far. Our laundry room is right off the kitchen, so we really appreciate the fact that it runs so quietly (probably due to the direct-drive motor). A few features I would like to mention are the soft-close, glass lid, the display of minutes left in the cycle and the dispenser drawer for detergent and softener. The washer offers a wide variety of cycles/settings in order to address the types of items being washed, and the control panel features several cycle-modifier options. However, I found the manual that came with the washer to be inadequate. The owner’s manual that can be downloaded from the LG website is a much more complete document, and in my opinion, it should have been supplied with the machine. The website manual is an absolute necessity if one is to understand how this washer actually works. For example, the website manual describes how to wash a load of clothes with a higher water level than that prescribed by the machine. I think that the automatic water level is often too low, so I generally use the option to add water. We hope for many years of trouble-free operation.

I bought this machine a month ago, choosing it because of a Consumer Report account saying it was one of the best machines to buy. At first, I was frustrated because the thin manual I was given at purchase had insufficient instructions to let me know how to do anything but a normal load. I went online and watched some YouTubes to learn how to work the other features of my machine. In many ways, the buttons on this machine look more like a computer than a washing machine. For example, the instructions said to press "Pause" if a load got off kilter. Nowhere on my machine could I find the word "Pause" and I didn't know which button the manual was referring to. I learned online that the pause button looks like what is on my television remote for pausing a program. I think that if pictures were in the manual this would significantly improve the learning process to make this machine more user-friendly to the consumer, as these washing machines differ from other machines I have owned. So far, I am very pleased with how well it is cleaning my clothes.

It’s very easy to operate and I love the happy sounds it makes when you turn it on and select a cycle. Then it tells you when it’s done. It’s cost saving on detergent also, using a much smaller amount. Loads are balanced before the washer starts so I don’t have to worry about hearing a “bam,bam,bam” like my old one made when the load got off balance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are happy with the washer but we are still working depth of water settings and agitation/spinning levels that will hopefully help get out more stains without the use of stain removers. Our older/classic washer got the same soiling out. Disappointed new technology needs helps to do the same.

This has been the worse dryer I have bought. It does not clean very well. The clothes don't smell great after going through the wash (I am using the same detergent I used with my old one). Also the water will not go hot. There is a setting for hot water on the washer but it only comes out warm. The company states that this is because it is "energy efficient". It would be nice to be able to have hot water during the load. So if you are looking for a washing machine that cleans your clothes. Choose another one.

I just love my new washer, the tub is huge, it is easy to use has wonderful features and my clothes come out clean! I have not owned an LG appliance prior to this but I will definitely be looking into LG for future purchases. I also bought the matching dryer. Easy to use does a great job! All in all an 11 out of 10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a whirlpool washer for about 25 years. Things have changed since then. Still getting used to not using near as much water for each wash, but loads are clean when done. I love the timer. I can start it and know when I need to come back to unload it. I also like that when it gets unbalanced it will shut down and unlock the lid so you can spread the items around and start it back up unlike the old one trying to walk out into the den. Hope to have this for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this washer for just over a year, and it’s just average. The normal cycle is way too low on the water even being an HE washer. I am having to use the deep wash cycle often because there is no medium level water cycle for warm/ hot washes unless you use delicate cold cycle. In normal cycle, the clothes often have dry spots because water is so low unless you have a very small load. Disappointed overall. Was happy with Previous LG washer, but this model was less than expected.

My old washer was slowly dying. Hubby and I looked at several brands & models. We decided on this washer for several reasons. The agitator, the see through lid and it's numerous options to wash clothes the way they are supposed to be washed. The price was justified. I am very happy with my new washer.
