[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an earlier model of this blender with a glass carafe. I thought the plastic one would be marred with the ice crush option but I was VERY happy with the speed, size and the unbreakable, unmarred surface of the carafe!

It handles frozen veggies, bananas, and whatever else I might toss in there. It easily makes those items into a smooth drink with no "clumps". Very happy with it and it was well priced as well.

I have been an advocate of kitchenaid for many years, as soon as I learned how to use my mother's Kitchenaid Stand mixer. This blender does everything and more that I want it to., and I will probably never purchase anything else. Even my refrigerator and dishwasher are Kitchenaid!

The base does not drift when in use and the one-piece hard plastic mixing jar cleans easily. Plastic offers the advantage of lighter weight than glass.

Taking it out the the box we were surprised that the container was not glass - we were mislead by the print ad. We use frozen fruit in out smoothies and find the blender much noisier and less effective than our previous 25 year old blender.

These blenders are somewhat pricey for my budget but the first one was a gift and I just had no idea that the price reflected the quality. I purchased an inexpensive blender when the first one died. Wow! It was so bad that I was immediately sorry. The advertising was inaccurate at best and it could not even break up ice. So, I learned my lesson and went back to the KitchenAid Classic Blender. I LOVE this machine and it will no doubt outlive me.
