I bought the red KitchenAid 60oz Diamond Blender and, in my opinion, it is awesome! I purchased it to make smoothies and it crushes ice wonderfully and just devours anything I put into it, like veggies and fruit. It is very easy to clean, too. I am very happy with this purchase.

I use it to make different types of smoothies for myself and my kids, salsas, sauces, and soups. It even came with a recipe booklet that had other great ideas and uses that I wouldn't have thought of. I wanted something that had a good blade to crush down ice and purée for a smooth texture and this machine does just that! I got it in the empire red to match my other kitchenaid appliances. Great buy, worth every penny!

I especially like that the blades are attached to the pitcher. I had problems with another brand blender where the blade attachment cracked and I could not and was afraid to use afterwards. Had to throw it away. Ialso went by the reviews for this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a kitchen aid blender that we used hot liquid in to purée vegetables. The plastic teeth between the base and the blender container melted rendering the blender obsolete. What a silly design. Our blender is older because it has a glass container as opposed to plastic (like the current ones). We are disappointed at the quality and poor design.

I got this blender as a wedding present and maybe only used it 2 or 3 times. When I went to go use it the 4th time (while only making a smoothie), the blade would stop blending but the motor would rev up more. After looking at it, the plastic nuts on the bottom and inside the container looked like plastic was coming off and the blade seemed to be loose. I quit using it because now it seems dangerous if the blade loosens up anymore and who knows how much plastic could be wearing off into the smoothies. It just seems like a poor design in my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Agree with Bill from Rochester. Same thing happened here. Only we didn't put ice in the blender. I was blending herbs and oil for a dressing/sauce. The black roter on the base of the unit completely cracked into multiple pieces. When I lifted the blender off the base, there were tons of tiny pieces. Rotted? Seems wrong since the unit belonged to my father in law who seldom used it. Model No. KSP5WH4. I would have thought such a simple piece might be replaceable, but there are no parts for this on KitchenAid's site. And that doesn't bode well, since such a simple replacement part when the entire unit is in excellent shape, would really be a consumer friendly effort. Also, I can only imagine Rochester Bill and I are hardly the only two people this has happened to.

Recently bought this blender and am HIGHLY disappointed. Tried to blend a cheesecake mixture by following the recommendations of speed 5 in the instruction manual. The blender did not have the power to blend the ingredients together. Instead it attempted to for a few seconds and then all the lights would flash on the panel (as designed) and the system would turn off. Gave the blender the benefit of the doubt and tried to mix frosting as a second attempt. The blender stalled out sooner than the first attempt and would not blend the mixture at all. I tried shifting the ingredients around, adding more liquid, etc. with no avail. Finally, I ended up mixing the frosting by hand. After having owned a number of kitchenaid products, I am VERY disappointed with this kitchenaid product and it's lack of power/overall ability to do what it's designed to do.
