I thought I'm going to buy one with more power. This one performs well. I like the bigger mouth on the top and have no problem adding an avocado or other vegetables to my morning smoothie.

The plastic container and plastic lid have a very bad smell and despite washing it repeatedly, the odor/smell remains. Anything made in it have an aftertaste. Mechanically, it works well, other than this weird odor from the plastic. What is wrong with a glass container? Anyone else experiencing this?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although a big fan of KitchenAid products, I am very disappointed with this blender. It looks great, but the plastic pitcher leaks at the bottom where the blades are connected and there is no way to tighten it. Makes it completely useless for anything liquid. Since we use it almost exclusively for smoothies, it is a glorified counter ornament. I refuse to pay for a new pitcher, since this one was used less than 20 times before it started leaking. Not your typical KitchenAid quality, particularly when I can purchase something good for half the price.

The reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because I have to add more liquid than I'd like when making smoothies from frozen fruit and juice (the liquid). I realize it's not a professional juice bar blender, so it's probably not a realistic expectation, but my previous blender was able to make thicker smoothies than this one is.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New and out of the box the blender leaked from the blade shaft assembly. Not a huge leak, but it would fling a little bit of the blender contents into the base of the blender and onto the base of the blender. Sometimes it would leak some oily black liquid, perhaps a lubricant of some sort on the shaft. It leaves it in a perfectly horizontal line as others have mentioned. Leak gets progressively worse the more you use blender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had received this blender a couple of Christmas's ago. I use it several times a month. Either making smoothies with fresh or frozen fruit and a lot of frozen coffee drinks. The only issue I have had is a little rust on the blade but I believe that is my fault from putting it away when it was not fully dry. It is easy to clean, adding soap and water after making my drink, setting on a high speed and then a simple rinse. I would recommend kitchen aid products to anyone at anytime. They have yet to disappoint me. And plus you can't go wrong with the beautiful color Selection!

I immediately purchased this model, similar to the one I have at home, and couldn't be more pleased. Always been a KitchenAid fan from large to small appliances. The brand doesn't ever disappoint. The smoothies are fabulous!

The combination of chemotherapy and radiation has taken its toll on her body. So I purchased this blender which I love. It's easy to use, especially easy to wash and made well... like the look of it, sleek, no pop up buttons with nooks and crannies to get at in order to wash. I would love to get more KitchenAid products!!
