[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the KitchenAid 5 Speed Blender a few weeks ago through Home Depot on line. The stainless steel blades work so well. I have made milk shakes and chopped vegetables in the blender. I simply follow the instructions that came with blender. About to make some potato soup and I will use the blender again, blend 1/2 of almost cooked soup to make what's in pot thicker. I also use the blender if I am canning home grown tomato juice.

I bought one of these blender in February partly because of the brand name and larger pitcher, & it's already dead. Blades bent within a couple of months, now it doesn't work at all. I only use it once or twice a week to make smoothies. Had cheaper ones that last at least 2 years or more, this one less than a year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it to make smoothies and shakes for my mom as she was diagnosed with cancer. Her appetite has not been what it used to be..at all. The combination of chemotherapy and radiation has taken its toll on her body. So I purchased this blender which I love. It's easy to use, especially easy to wash and made well... like the look of it, sleek, no pop up buttons with nooks and crannies to get at in order to wash. I would love to get more KitchenAid products!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New and out of the box the blender leaked from the blade shaft assembly. Not a huge leak, but it would fling a little bit of the blender contents into the base of the blender and onto the base of the blender. Sometimes it would leak some oily black liquid, perhaps a lubricant of some sort on the shaft. It leaves it in a perfectly horizontal line as others have mentioned. Leak gets progressively worse the more you use blender.

Crushes Ice perfectly, but do not try to make cheesecake batter in it (my food processor wasn't big enough, it was worth a shot). It does seem to be pretty loud unfortunately, so I don't use it in the morning so as not to wake up my neighbors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have an older version with the glass blender, but used maybe a handful of times. The teeth on the base cumbled/ broke in half when I went to make a milkshake. Called Support and my options were to get a service person or buy a new one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Daily Smoothie maker...the plastic coupling in base and gear on bottom of jar eventually ground down to nothing (burning rubber smell) No longer a connection between base motor and jar gear..No more smoothies..disappointed given price (not a cheap throwaway kind I had in college)

About a month after I purchased my blender the the plastic exterior broke where it attached to the working parts. I would have returned it for another one, but my " handy man " husband rebuilt and repaired the interior attachment. I know this will not fall apart, but maybe if I got a replacement it would be subject to the same type of breakdown. The blender has worked dependably since that time. I expect it to continue to make my summer smoothies with perfection. I would only recommend it to a friend if the stand was made differently today.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the best part of this blender over my old Farberware is how easy it is to clean. Operation is quite smooth and seamless when changing speeds. I've owned this blender for about 3 weeks and am quite pleased so far.
