I love KitchenAid blenders but buying the refurbished version wasn't a good idea. Since the first time I used it, it started to smell like something was burning from the blending motor. The plastic coupling is poor quality. I used it 3 times and it started to smell more and more like plastic burning. I was excited to receive this blender but I have to return asap.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this blender to replace an old Kitchen Aid for which I could no longer get parts. I was a little leery of the design, but WOW was I wrong. It is so easy to clean and ice cubes don't seem to scratch the plastic pitcher (which was my main concern). The design is beautiful and it has great power for anything I want to blend. I would highly recommend this blender - You won't be sorry :)

Ours is about 4 years old and has left a bit of residue on the underneath side of the pitcher part right from the beginning. I should have contacted the company right then so this maybe is my fault but now rather than just a bit leaking through it leaks a lot. Since it is all one piece there is nothing to tighten and there is no fix to it and no parts other then a complete new pitcher part of the blender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this blender 5 times since buying it, while it works great at blending and crushing ice I've only given it a 3 star rating because it looks like the screw that holds the blades is already getting rusted, will need to keep an eye on it.

I started making smoothing daily about a year ago with this blender. It was fine at first, it would stop a lot and I'd have to stir up the frozen strawberries and start it back up. Then it started leaking and I'd tighten up the bolt on the bottom and that would last for a couple weeks and then re-tighten. Now I have to re-tighten the bolt before every use and it still leaks. We had it about 9 years but I really only started using it within the past year so I'd say don't expect to get more than a year out of this blender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Daily Smoothie maker...the plastic coupling in base and gear on bottom of jar eventually ground down to nothing (burning rubber smell) No longer a connection between base motor and jar gear..No more smoothies..disappointed given price (not a cheap throwaway kind I had in college)

It makes the absolute best smoothies and I can't wait to use it after my morning coffee. I love all the options available and keep trying new recipes and each one seems to be better than the next. I only wish I had this blender years ago; I never knew a blender could be this fantastic!!
