Very happy with the purchase!

I bought a set online during the Cyber Monday Sales event for $199. When I got the shipment a few days later, I was very please with the quality and the clear measurement marking and product stamp on the pieces. The weigh and markings of each of the pieces really make the set feels/looks hi-end. Good: Since I use an electric stovetop, I always start with medium heat. I was surprised by how fast the pans/pots evenly warmed/heated up. The covers fit nicely snug. The little tiny hole on the covers is good with releasing internal pressure when I boiled water or simmering food. I feel that I have better control of my cooking temps with this set of pots. I can crisp the food easier. Clean up is also quite easy with the exception of a few oil burn marks at side of the pan. I'm seeking help on how to remove those oil burned marks. Bad: One serious issue I have with the set is that edges of the steamer (or pasta strainer) is too sharp. I almost got cut a couple of times while cleaning the strainer. Luckily, I don't use that piece often enough to return the set to SamsClub. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and recommend it for most home cooking.

Don't.

If you're like me, you think you can trust the name Viking. You'd be wrong. I am very regretful about this purchase. The large pan is warped, and on a glass cooktop this is unacceptable. They are not well made, the steel stains, and the lids get hot. Don't do it. Just go with another brand.

not worth it

I know to season. I knw they conduct well and you do not need high heat, but... why on earth would they score the insides to make everything STICK unless you soak in grease and cleanup is IMPOSSIBLE? They do not clean without soaking, or scrubbing. You may as well go ahead and use a brillo on it even tho it is not recommended. I got rid of a set because the bottoms insides were not smooth. I guess i must do it again. Very maintenence hevy to keep nice. Remember to dry by hand as well. Oil first cold, het pan, add item. Scrub scrub scrubhand dry.

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE

I have owned these for a year now so thought I would write a review. I had always had T-Fal type pans and never thought in a million years I would own stainless steel. I bought an induction stove so I had to purchase new pans and thought I'd give these a try. I am so glad I did because these are great. Cleaning them is a bit different and just need to soak a while if things are stuck to the bottom. I watched lots of videos on how to fry an egg and can do that without sticking. I NEVER use Pam on my pans as I read the manual of some other pans and found that actual wrecks them. I loved them so much I bought the matching set of Viking nonstick skillets. I had also read to clean them with Barkeepers Friend and that is truly the secret to keeping them like new. The only negative I have is I like when I can use lids from the pans on the skillets too but ended up having to buy a universal lid. One of the lids will fit the small skillet. I also had to buy a smaller saucepan. The weight of these pans are very heavy duty and you will not be disappointed. Loved the quality of Viking so much I just ordered the mixing bowls too.

Nice set of pots and pans

I bought these back in January 2021, so I’ve been using them for years now. I like them very much. It is cooking with stainless steel which can be a learning curve. However, once you can master eggs you’ll be glad to have high quality pans that don’t flake coating off them. These pots and pans are heavy duty and will last for a very long time. When something gets stuck to them I get them wet and sprinkle baking soda on them and scrub. You don’t usually have to scrub hard and they shine afterwards. After all these years they still look great! Glad I bought them!

Skeptical at first

I bought this set last year when they were on sale but I didn't want to write a review until I had used them for a while. I've been wanting a good set of stainless pots forever and decided I would try them. Sooo glad I did!! Like with all pots you have to pay attention when you start using them to make sure you don't burn or over cook anything. But, I will say I have enjoyed them. Keeping them clean isn't that hard if you just hand wash them once in a while, but I've put them in the dishwasher most of the time and they're great. The only thing I would suggest is to use wooden utensils on them so they don't scratch but otherwise I absolutely love them and I'm glad I took the chance!!!

Buying a second set for us!

My husband bought these for me for Christmas and I loved them from the first use. I don’t have an issue with anything sticking and they heat evenly. These are good, heavy-duty pots and pans. After about a month of use, the pans get a little “wear” on them. No problem. My husband gets out Bar Keepers Friend, combined with some elbow grease, and they look brand new! For anyone’s reference: we’ve never put these in the dishwasher and we have a gas stove.

I'm super picky about cookware and in the past, I've always used circulon. We decided to get away from Teflon and get back to basics. This set is perfect and has everything I wanted, clear lids, a pasta insert, a good size stock pot and well made pots and pans. I got it on sell but after owning the set, is be willing to pay full price.

amazing

So the first time I used them I messed up. The second time after talking to a friend our food turned out fantastic. So the second time I preheated the pan and made sure to only add liquids that were heated. I've never cooked on pans that weren't non-stick. But I found that if you are going to add any liquid to the pan or skillet after it's already hot this works better. And then if I need oil or butter for eggs I do it it before I turn the temperature on. My pans never have to be scrubbed now. They are never discolored. I love these so much now that I have thrown out my non stick pans. They heat evenly and I can cook at lower temperatures and food turns out perfectly now that I actually know how to cook with them

Awful set

We had them for less than a month and after 2 uses they started to get stained. We are very careful with the heat we cook with and to wash them, they are not what we were expecting at all. So hard to maintain and even when we do our best they still get ruined. A big disappointment.
