I bought this set a couple of weeks ago. A couple of tips for stainless cookware in general: 1. Put some oil or butter in the bottom of the pan prior to heating up, this prevent discolored splotches. The splotches will easily come off with Bar Keeper's Friend! 2. NEVER use the heat setting past medium, this will scorth your food due to the properties of the product (holds heat very well). 3. Wait for the pot/pan to cool down then wash and dry right away, this prevents rusting and keeps your cookware looking like new! ALWAYS handwash. Although it says dishwasher safe, it can tarnish the finish after awhile. For the product review: very high quality! Heavy, but not too heavy. The package arrived safely and neatly packed. My complaint with that though, was too much plastic which unnecessarily covered the set. The measurement markings are very nice to have. Overall, I highly recommend the set. It's at an amazing price as well.

Good quality/value with a few complaints. Clean fairly easily but do discolor some (I wash mine in the dishwasher - box boasts dishwasher safe, instructions seem to contradict that). Huge compared to our last set, some (like the stock and pasta insert) are too large to be useful and are inconvenient for a family of four. Length and shape of handles (high arch/curve) took some getting use to). Biggest complaint is that the measurement stamped in the interior of the pots are dramatically off (ex. 6 cups measures slightly more that 1 quart). They should be correct or not there at all.

I always wanted to own a set of Viking cookware as I consider Viking to be the elite of cookware and appliances. I was not disappointed when I received this set. It's gorgeous, very well made and heavy. An excellent value for the money. I'm now looking forward to getting rid of all my unmatched and inferior pots and pans. If your looking for pretty, these fit the bill. If your looking for triply, the whole pan is. If your looking for durable work horse... oops. The info says dishwasher safe, directions say don't... it will ruin the shinny mirror finish. They discolor fairly easy. I've never seen stainless that would like this. The triply for the whole pan is amazing for heat distribution. That feature knocks it out of the park for functional. Just wish the finish was as phenomenal.

As a Chef with 30 years in the restaurant business, I have worked with all sorts of the "the good, the bad, and the ugly" pots and pans in my line of work at a dozen restaurants, hotels, country clubs and resorts. Only a few stand out against the sea of cheap aluminum pans that 80% of restaurants stock their kitchens with. The other 20% insist on heavy stainless steel equipment with durable riveted or welded handles. At home I went thru many sets of mediocre mass produced cookware sets before discovering this steal of a deal. Folks when you are ready to settle down and invest in real cookware that will outlive you and outperform the cheap stuff, this is it. Just grab these in store while you can if you see them. Feel confident to order shipped if your local club doesn't have them. A note to those few reviewers who don't understand how to clean your stainless pans, you need a 3M scotchbrite pad, "Bar Keepers Friend" scouring powder and two hands. Rinse out food/sauce, sprinkle the cleanser, scrub, rinse, throw it in the dishwasher (or hand wash them if that's your thing, not for me.) They come out looking brand freaking new every time. I have been using these pans heavily for over a year and still has a nice mirror finish. The only thing to add on to this set would be a nice modern nonstick egg pan and then you're set for life.

So disappointed I used my small frying pan just to cook eggs for breakfast and it looks ugly from the first use. I used my large frying pan with same results. I hand washed mine and didn’t put them in the dishwasher but after just a couple of uses they look horrible and everything sticks regardless of what temp they are cooked at. I won’t be buying anymore Viking anything. I have cooked with stainless steel for many years and these are the worst.

I recently made the switch from non-stick cookware. I tried several stainless steel cookware sets before deciding on this one. This set is beautiful and sturdy. It heats up quickly and evenly. It has the pan sizes I use the most. I also prefer the glass lids to the stainless steel lids because I like to see my food cooking. Finally, I much prefer the pasta insert to the steamer included in many other sets. I have not found these pans anywhere else.

I purchased this set four months ago and was originally very pleased, since then about two months ago I noticed rust spots on the big pot and now the middle pot has them too. I washed them in the dishwasher which should not matter for stainless pots. I would not purchase these again. Viking is usually a good product, but I cannot recommend this set.

Excellent cookware for the price.

This is a very nice set of pots and pans. They are heavy and very nicely made.
